Mo Xuanyu didn't remember when it had started raining, but it must have been quite a while ago, because his clothes were completely soaked and hung heavily on him.

He had simply run in the next best direction and was now sitting on the side of the road under a large tree that only discreetly kept him from getting wet.

His sobs could barely be heard over the loud pattering of the rain, and yet out of habit he had pressed a hand so tightly over his mouth that it would surely leave imprints on it, to try to be as quiet as possible.

Mo Xuanyu did not know what to do now.

Then all of a sudden a car stopped near him and someone jumped out and came running towards him. "Xuanyu! Xuanyu!"

It was Wei Wuxian. Mo Xuanyu looked at him in fright and winced all over his body as he dropped to the ground beside him, his whole body expecting to be hit.

"A-Yu." Wei Wuxian's voice sounded gentle. "Oh A-Yu." And Mo Xuanyu didn't believe his eyes. Wei Wuxian had started to cry. "I'm so happy to have found you." The man sobbed and looked at him lovingly.

There were so many things Mo Xaunyu wanted to say, but the first thing that left his lips was, "How did you find me?"

"Your teacher, Lan Wangji, saw you standing in front of the school and then saw you running away and he contacted me." He nodded back to the car and Mo Xuanyu realized that Wei Wuxian had gotten out of the passenger side, "He helped me look for you, too. A really- really nice man."

Mo Xuanyu heard the sound of rustling fabric and a moment later Wei Wuxian put his warm black jacket over his shoulders.

"Let's go home and talk." he said softly.

But Mo Xuanyu didn't want to talk. He knew what this would amount to. Wei Wuxian would kick him out, and it had taken nothing more than Mo Xuanyu's inability to handle conflict to do that. It was always his fault. Why couldn't he just do something right for once in his life?

He wanted to let out a cry of frustration, but all that left his mouth was a low whimper.

"I'm not angry. "Wei Wuxian said then, gently stroking Mo Xuanyu's cheek with his knuckles, "Everything is okay."

But everything was not okay. Everything would never be okay, and Mo Xuanyu knew that deep inside.
But he didn't say that out loud. He only began to cry and sob harder.

Wei Wuxian carefully helped him to his feet and gently pressed him against him to help him walk, as Mo Xuanyu's legs were shaking badly.
