SHINJUKU THROWDOWN SPOLIERS
Sampo scanned the group, his gaze lingering on Y/N for a moment longer than the others. "Huh... Who would've thought I'd bump into fellow professionals out in this frozen wasteland? How about we join forces? I've got reliable intel—the bulk of the Silvermane Guards is tied up at the frontlines. I'd say this is the perfect opportunity..."
The group, excluding Y/N, exchanged confused looks. Terms like "Silvermane Guards," "frontlines," and this "business" Sampo kept mentioning were new to them. Finally, Stelle voiced the question on everyone's mind. "What exactly do you mean by 'business'?"
Sampo, visibly surprised, blinked and then quickly adjusted, taking it as a kind of test. "Come on now, no need for this act, friends. I get it, trust is earned. But we all know the rules—vigilance comes with the job. My bad for letting my enthusiasm run wild."
The confusion only deepened for everyone except Y/N, who had already pieced things together but chose to stay quiet, finding amusement in the Trailblazers' bewilderment.
Sampo continued, unfazed by the stares. "Fate must've brought us together. Ask me anything you want—I'll spill the beans. But make it quick, you're never more than ten feet away from a Silvermane Guard." He lifted his arms, palms out, signaling he was harmless, though Dan Heng's sharp gaze remained fixed on him.
Stelle was about to ask something irrelevant, but Y/N swiftly cut in, stepping forward. "We're looking for the city. Can you show us the way?"
'I could just fly up and find it myself,' Y/N thought, glancing around, 'but I'd attract too much attention if people like Sampo are lurking in the snow.'
Sampo hesitated. "The city, huh? Already? I haven't even started my trading yet. Sure, I can lead you, but it would cost—"
Before he could finish, Dan Heng's cold glare silenced him. Sampo immediately changed his tone. "B-But of course, no charge! 'Kindness' is my middle name. Follow me, and keep quiet. Wouldn't want to be spotted by any patrolling guards."
The group followed Sampo as he led the way, answering their small talk with practiced ease. The questions were basic, almost too basic to bother with, but Sampo played along, casting glances over his shoulder every now and then.
Suddenly, they were halted by the sight of soldiers ahead, halberds gleaming against the snow.
"Who are they?" Dan Heng muttered, eyeing the figures warily.
Sampo's face tightened. "Remember those Silvermane Guards I mentioned? Yeah, that's them." He swallowed, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. "So, uh... help me out here, friends? I'd rather not get caught!" And with that, Sampo slipped away like a shadow, leaving the group to face the approaching guards.
But before anyone could react, something unexpected happened..
