The days following the heated argument in the Kim mansion were marked by a cold and uneasy silence. Y/n remained in her room, isolating herself from her parents and the rest of the family. She had made it clear that forgiveness would not come easily, if at all.
Jungkook and Kevie were plagued by guilt, unable to shake the feeling that they had irreparably damaged their relationship with their daughter. They shared their concerns with their respective partners, who were equally distraught by the situation.
One evening, as they gathered in the living room to discuss their next steps, Namjoon proposed a plan, one that was born out of desperation and the belief that it might be the only way to mend their fractured family.
"We need to convince Y/n that Minhyuk and Nayeon have moved on from her," Namjoon suggested, his tone somber. "She cares deeply about them, and if she believes they're better off without her, it might push her to consider reconciling with us."
"I don't think it's a good idea, she deeply seems to be bonded with them. This would break her from the core" Jin stated with a hint of concern.
"We won't know until we give it a try" Jennie spoke in.
The idea hung heavy in the air, but the rest of the family reluctantly agreed that it was worth a try. They couldn't bear to see Y/n so broken, and if this ruse had a chance of softening her heart, they were willing to take it.
That night, Jungkook,Kevie, Taehyung, Namjoon along with Hoseok gathered in Y/n's room. She looked up from her book, her expression guarded, as they hesitated to broach the sensitive topic.
"Y/n," Kevie began cautiously, "we need to talk to you about something."
Y/n's eyes narrowed, suspicion evident in her gaze. "What is it?"
Jungkook took a deep breath, his voice trembling slightly. "We heard from Minhyuk and Nayeon recently."
Y/n's heart skipped a beat at the mention of their names, her concern immediately piqued. "What about them?"
Kevin continued, struggling to maintain eye contact with his daughter. "We found that they've decided to move on from their relationship with you, Y/n."
Y/n's world seemed to crumble in an instant. Her second family, the people who had brought her solace and happiness, were supposedly moving on without her. The pain that gripped her heart was nearly unbearable.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she whispered, "Why? Why would they do that?"
Kevie chimed in, her voice trembling with feigned sympathy. "They mentioned that they felt it was best for everyone. They didn't want to hold you back, Y/n."
Kevie added, "They said they didn't want to burden you with their problems anymore. They care about you, Y/n, and they want you to be free."
The room was filled with a heavy silence as Y/n processed the news. Her mind raced, torn between the family she had been born into and the one she had chosen for herself.
Jungkook reached out to touch her shoulder, his voice softening. "We know how much you cared about them, Y/n, but sometimes, people have to make difficult decisions for the sake of their own happiness."
Y/n felt a profound sense of loss and heartache as the weight of their words settled in. Her second family, the people who had meant the world to her, had supposedly moved on without her. She couldn't help but feel abandoned and broken.
With a heavy heart, she nodded, unable to find her voice. The room was filled with a suffocating sense of deception, as the family had resorted to lies in an attempt to win back their daughter.
