~PART 2~
~Dr Annabelle~

Some people might call me a workaholic. Or introverted because of how much I  prioritized my work and lacked a life outside of it. My work was mostly a consistency of managering the private psychiatric center. On a day to day basis, I carried the presidential duties of making sure every employee was doing right by our patients, read through patient files to check for any errors from the professional psychiatrists, check all the financial documents that came from the finance department and see through the waiting list on which patients to let in every once in a while when some patients were good to go.

It also meant attending meetings alongside the owner of the Psychiatric Center, Angelina Pearl. She owned multiple pharmaceutical brunches around the world and private hospitals. As the president of her psych department, I dealt with a lot of paperwork and psychiatrist hospital visits to handle evaluations. These duties kept me busy throughout my day to day job, so much so that I stayed at the office late until all the work was done.

Caffeine kept me going most days, at the age of 30. My bones were no-longer the same as before and I was battling through working overtime. Cramped up in a chair until my backbones were screwed together. Thinking about my age was already depressing enough, the signs of aging were my worst nightmare come true. With nobody calling to get home, I preferred my office than my lonely house.

I tried my best to remind myself that I was never going to be one of those old ladies with twenty cats to keep them company. Granted it was a 100% guarantee for I had a dislike for animals. Anything moving without a conscience  rubbed me off wrong way and that went from seeing animals to eating them. It just made my stomach churn, the idea of eating something dead never sat well with me.

Financially, I was well off. Bought a three story and a villa with a beach house in Hawaii, a collection of cars and with the presidential promotion, a high paying job. To continue living good, I just had to live my life exactly the way it was till I got old. Asking for more would mean begging life to give me more problems.

A mundane life meant nothing out of the ordinary. My days always went the same way. It was a routine that others would call a loop. Six hours of sleep. Two hours in my home gym down the stairs. Followed by getting ready for work, a ten minute drive there and a start of my day solving the same problems then go home and force food down my throat. Then start over again, It was perfect.

I finished arranging files from the biggest size to the small ones. Then color coded them and arranged their names in alphabetical order. A beep split my attention, I picked up my office phone.

"Doctor Annabelle, a man named George and his daughter are requesting to see you" Marilyn, my assistant informed me.

"Send them in" I placed the receiver down with a long sigh.

I wanted to scream and grab someonez stab them on the temple multiple times until I gorged their eyeballs out of their skull just to see their eyes roll back at the realization that they were in fact dead but I did not appreciate blood stains for they had been previously a nuisance to deal with. The hours it would take to get rid of a body would disrupt my schedule ruining the rest of my month.

The door to my office opened with no warning prior and that alone made my hatred for the bulky excuse of a man who came reach a different notch
So I sat there waiting with a twitching eye. He walked in not bothering to knock.

George held his hand out causing me to analyze him, genuinely trying to understand what in hell wanted me to do with that hand. Surely, with all the brain cells active in his skull, this succulent did not expect me to touch that.... His caloused hands were sticky and wet, fingernails with brown residue underneath. They were big, rough and sweaty in and to my dismay, he scratched his lice breeding beard.
