5 months later.

"Hun, have you seen my.." My watch is shoved in my face. "Looking for this?" Jane waves my watch around.

"Yes, thank you." I bend down, kissing her quickly. "I better go. I'm going to be late." She grabs my hand, pulling me back. "Will you be at the hospital later?" I nod "Course I'm going to collect Eliza from Haiz later and take her to see her mum." She looks away with a sad smile. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Jane pulled on her jacket. "She doesn't like me." My daughter did have a hard time when we started dating. Walking towards her, I wrap my arms around her. "It was a hard adjust, but she'll come round." I leave a reassuring kiss on her cheek.

"Anway, I gotta go." I grab my lunch and jump in my car. My phone starts ringing, so I answer it on the car speakers.

"Y/n!" It's Hailee.

"Hey Haiz, everything ok?" I stop at the red light.

"Yeah, all good. I just dropped El at school."

"Thank you. I was running so late! Hey Haiz, do you wanna grab some dinner as a thank you, I honestly can't thank you enough for helping me out with her. I certainly owe you a good meal, at least." The light turns green, and I make my way round the corner

"Sure, let's do dinner. How is Jane?" I park up by my office.

"She well she's still upset El hasn't taken to her, but it will be hard for her to accept that I'm with someone other than her mother, I guess." I jump out my car, taking my belongings and putting my headphones in.

"Yeah, it will be weird for her." The beeps on my phone alerting me to another phone call.

"Oh, hang on, Haiz, it's the hospital. I'll call you back." I end her call.

"Hello,"

"Hello, Miss Y/l/n."

"Yes, speaking."

"Could you come to the hospital?"

My heart stops. "Is.... Is my fiancé OK?"

"Yes, she's absolutely fine. There have been some developments on her last MRI scan I think we need to discuss in person."

"Oh good, erm. I was planning on being at the hospital after work, so I can finish earlier, maybe around 3, and head up if that works for you?" After Jane and I became involved, another neurosurgeon was assigned to Flo he's very good.

A few hours later, I'm at the hospital waiting outside Dr. Robinson's office.

"Y/n pleases come in."

"So what was so important you wanted to discuss in person?"

"Your wife's latest scans show an increase in brain activity."

"That's good, right?"

"It's incredible, especially considering the amount of time she's been in a coma. We tend to see this when a patient is likely to begin to wake up."

I can't control the smile the beings to grow on my face. "So there's a chance she could wake up soon?"

"It's very possible."

"That's the best news I've heard." I stand. "Thank you, Dr." I shake his hand and practically skip to Flo's room.

Florence's POV

I hear the door open. "Hey baby." I just want to sit up and hold her, but my body won't listen to me.

"The doctor just gave me great news. You're showing signs you may
wake up soon." The door goes again.
