CHAPTER THREE

The next morning Maybell walked alongside Kiri, Spider, and Lo'ak throughout the camp, towards where the buildings where the Avatars stayed in. Grace's avatar isn't dead, just empty so her avatar body was kept in the amino tank. Grace was Kiri's mother, but she had died in battle. Kiri often went to visit her whenever she could and Maybell usually went to comfort her. Today Spider and Lo'ak went with them today. On the way there, they teased each other and talked.

"So, you think Neteyam and Tessa will end up together?" Spider asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Oh, definitely." Maybell nods. "I've seen the way they look at each other."

"I agree." Kiri chimed in.

"Took the words right out of my mouth." Lo'ak chuckled.

"I hope they get together soon." Maybell added.

"Oh, same. It's kind of getting annoying seeing them flirt and be all lovey dovey without actually being together." Spider agreed.

"Yeah, but it's still sweet." Maybell smiled. She and Spider didn't know that Kiri and Lo'ak had shared a knowing look since they both thought the same for Maybell and Spider.

"Do you think they will though?" Kiri asked, raising her eyebrows after Maybell and Spider were out of ear shot as they went ahead of them.

"Definitely. I just don't think either of them will say anything. They'll just keep dancing around each other." Lo'ak explained.

"Agreed. Those two are hopeless." Kiri chuckled, rolling her eyes.

"And dumb." Lo'ak added. Kiri chuckled and shook her head at him as they followed Maybell and Spider inside.

Spider takes his oxygen mask off once they were inside. "You know what really sucks though? Is you can breathe Earth air for hours and I can only breathe your air for, like, ten seconds."

"You're not the only one." Maybell reminded him.

"Yeah, Tessa's the same way too." Kiri adds. After grabbing a mask for herself, she waves at Max, who was nearby with Nrom. "Hey, Max." The Na'vi had to grab masks whenever they would go in the buildings since the buildings had Earth air. While the Na'vi can breathe Earth air, they still need the masks so they don't have trouble breathing.

"Hey, kids." Max greeted with a smile.

Spider then greeted Max and Norm as well, fist bumping them both. "Hi, guys." Maybell smiled, waving at them before she followed Kiri over to where the amino tank was that kept Grace's avatar body.

Maybell watched with a soft smile as Kiri climbs on the tank, smiling down at her mom. "Hi, ma." She then leaned forward and wrapped her arms around the tank like she was hugging her mom.

Maybell now stood near Kiri as they watched a recording of Grace. She was alive when Grace was alive, but she was really young and didn't remember much about Grace. She just remembered that Grace was an amazing woman. Spider stood near the girls, leaning his elbow against the tank.

Kiri then turned around to look at her mom, leaning her arms on the railing of the tank as Spider moved to sit on top of it. "So who do you think knocked her up?" Lo'ak suddenly asked, walking over to the teens.

Spider chuckles. "Pretty sure it was Norm."

"Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't." Maybell admitted.

"Totally." Lo'ak agreed.

"You do not deserve to live." Kiri sent a glare to them, turning to look at them.

"No, no, no. Think about it, right? I mean, he's the teacher's pet. He's out at the lab with her all the time." Lo'ak pointed out.
