All 238 Nations in the coming years after the 2000's were beggining to develop an accord towards each other. The nations of the world decided to create a Military and Economic Alliance that bonded them so strongly together that the Alliance created systematic unity of the planet and moon.
The International Union was the Alliance, but later in the timeline it would become more than simply an Alliance of old testament. The IU has a strong Population of 20 Billion on Laitis, and 700 Million on Gourma. Technology in the 2050's and 2060's EXPLODED. By the current year of 2073, most people could live on average over 100 years, closing in to 120 years.
The same could not be said for any other colony... likely due to the fact that the requirements for living long and healthy lives have yet to reach them. Though, that did not stop factions from trying to gain power in the Parliaments of other worlds.
The IU Congress issued a Worldwide Military Budget, the first of it's kind. That 0.5% of their entire GDP goes to the Military. This may seem weak... but the GDP of the IU Homeworld and Moon was staggering...
The IU Economy was by far the best off, at a Staggering 5.7 QUADRILLION CREDITS (§5,700,000,000,000,000), which was almost completely because of the Asteroid Mining Industries and thousands of Automation Industries on Laitis and Gourma.
The GNP of the IU was all of their factories, including colonies... with their GNP clocking in at a whopping 7.5 Quadrillion Credits. That mean that the homeworld and moon suffices ⅔ of the entire economy. This does make a lot of sense contextually and economically.
