As the IU shifts their attention to the OPE, The ECR makes amends to the IU, as well as keeping Economic ties to the OPE... however, the OPE does not respect the ECR at all. Irony it is, because they too gain freedom from the exact methodology they so claim to despise.

The OPE then began looking to expand their influence to Outop and Igede... two very important worlds owned by the IU. However, the IU still own ⅔ of the entire system, and it would take time to wittle down their defenses. Better yet, their Orbital Iron Shield was something to be amazed at.

It had 27 Layers of a variety of weapons systems, all capable of destroying 5 ships per minute. That meant that any invading fleet would need to take these out by incredibly often and very powerful Cyberattacks... or just losing tens of thousands of ships constantly.

The IU also found new ways to use their old Atmospheric Fighters and Bombers, as they could send them on small Hover Transports the size of U.S. Aircraft Carriers, if not larger than even those. The Atmospheric Fighters and Bombers could clear Ground Defenses and bring in Reinforcements.

This ALSO means that Atmospheric VTOL's and Verticraft were also valuable assets to the IU. The ECR and OPE did not have these things, and were considered at a massive disadvantage because of it. Thanks to the already strong IU Industry, their capabilities as a nation only grew with each year that passed.
