The beasts surrounded Orion and Moonlight, barking viciously. Orion pointed his blade towards one of the beasts, dodging and striking it as it jumped at him. Moonlight stabbed many of the beasts with her spear, but they just kept coming. Eclipse looked on in boredom as she waited for her minions to kill the two.
Orion struck another beast down, firing his wrist bow into an approaching beast. "I'm really starting to think I should just throw the dagger at her." Orion whispered over to Moonlight.
"Don't. You have to get close to her, then stab her." Moonlight suggested, fighting off another beast. Orion dodged another beast, cutting its head off.
"That's it. I'm going for the kill." Orion growled, running towards Eclipse.
"Orion, wait!" Moonlight called out. But Orion was already leaping up the steps to the throne. He jumped up, his sword high above his head. Eclipse, with the wave of her hand, sent Orion flying into the wall to his right. Moonlight speared the last beast through its skull, dashing towards Orion, who was barely able to stand.
"I can't do it, Moonlight." He admitted. "I can't kill her. She's too strong." Orion looked down at the floor, blood dribbling from his lip.
"Yes, you can, Orion. You've beaten everything else. You can beat her, too." Moonlight held Orion up, keeping him from collapsing. She felt something in her palm, then.
"You have to do it..." Orion whispered. "I'm too weak to get to her." The snarls of beasts from behind them diverted Orion's attention. "I'll hold them off." Orion weakly stood up, loosely grabbing his sword. "Go, Moonlight." Orion shoved Moonlight away just before he attacked one of the beasts.
"Orion-"
"Go, Moonlight!" Orion ordered, fending off the ferocious attacks of the shadow monsters. Hesitantly, Moonlight darted towards Eclipse with the dagger hidden behind her wrist. Eclipse let Moonlight get close, but then she immediately shot a burst of darkness in an attempt to send Moonlight flying backwards. But the human-wolf hybrid leaped over the burst, steadying herself on the throne.
"Go to Hell!" Moonlight snarled, jumping up and crashing down onto Eclipse. She barraged Eclipse with a fury of punches before she decided enough was enough. Moonlight flicked out the dagger, raising it high above her head. She threw her arm down into Eclipse's stomach, the dagger severely impaling Eclipse.
"No!" She gasped out for air as her body writhed in pain. Moonlight looked down at Eclipse in disgust. "You don't realize...what you've done..." Eclipse gasped weakly. "Everything you once knew...is now..."
Moonlight felt the ground shake violently. It was like the entire planet was splitting.
"Gone." A bright flash of light knocked Moonlight back. And then, everything went black.
...
Moonlight didn't feel the ground at all. She felt the wind against her entire body, pushing her down, faster and faster. Shaking herself awake, it was only then that she realized that she was falling. Where was she? How did she get here? The only thing Moonlight knew was that something happened, and now she was falling. Moonlight looked around the vast open sky, searching for Orion. She called out his name, but the shrill wind kept her voice from coming out. Just then, she saw something; or rather, someone. A teen, unconscious, and falling, just like Moonlight. She knew immediately that it was Orion. She reached out to him, but she wasn't close enough. Moonlight stretched out, barely able to grab hold of Orion's loose scabbard. Pulling the unconscious teen closer, Moonlight held him in her arms as the two fell further, further, and further. Moonlight closed her eyes, tears falling. "It's okay, Orion..." She told the unconscious teen. "We'll be alright..."
