Chapter Fourteen
Percy sighed as she relaxed by herself in the library after having left the Hall of Justice. It was rare for her to get a moment to just sit down and close her eyes, blocking out everything around her and relax her mind.
"Percy!" Percy groaned softly at her peace being interrupted and opened her eyes to meet those of one of her friends: Luke, son of Hermes.
"What do you want, Luke?" She sighed, silently groaning in her mind. She had just wanted some peace and quiet! Was that too much to ask?!
"Look, I know that you are busy with being married and kids and all that jazz, and don't want us contacting you unless we have to... which we haven't!" Luke said, defending himself as Percy's eyes narrowed.
"What's happened?"
Luke sighed. "Well, nothing bad, like the two wars bad but still bad enough that I felt like I needed to reach out to you. As you know, most of the veteran campers that we grew up with are either out in the real world, like you, or in the city of New Rome living the life that we didn't know that we could get. It's just myself, Valdez, Clarisse, and the Stolls left here from the old crew. We had three children of the Big Three come in the past two months, each one a child of different parentage and each one with power levels that are out of control. They aren't as strong as Thalia, Nico, and yourself but they are strong enough for the other campers to alienate them as the campers have heard stories about the great Percy Jackson but as you know, seeing is believing. With the alienation of most of the camp, the three of them are incredibly unhappy and it is effecting their control on their abilities is there anyway that you can come up here and just help them?"
Percy frowned severely. One, she was extremely happy to know that she had another sibling, a halfblood just like her. But she wasn't happy about how the camp was treating her brother and cousins. Two, she didn't like the fact her father hadn't told her about her new brother at all in one of their talks.
"Why are you coming to me about this? What about Thalia, Nico, Jason, or Hazel?" Luke sighed and rubbed his eyes.
"Because it seems that Hazel and Nico are stuck in the Underworld for right now as their father is in a slight tizzy over his wife and mother-in-law and decided that if he is going to be miserable, his children can be miserable right beside him. They don't know when they will be back, they just know it won't be soon. Thalia is on the other side of the world with the Hunt hunting down some mysterious ancient creature in the Sahara desert so she's no help. And Jason and Piper just had their first baby two weeks ago. He doesn't have time or the energy to come over and help train them. You are literally my only hope as I fear if something isn't done soon, the three of them are going explode."
Percy sighed and rubbed her temples. "Okay, okay. I'll be there Friday and stay the weekend then we shall go from there. Don't let anyone know that I'm coming. I would like to get the feel of the camp for myself before making myself known."
Luke smiled relieved. "Thanks, Percy! I really appreciate it."
Percy smiled back and waved her hand through the mist, making the Iris Message disappear and flopping back into her chair with a groan. She reached over and grabbed her wine filled glass and taking a hearty sip to hopefully begin to relax once more.
No such luck, however, as her comm unit that she always kept in her ear whenever her sons and/or husband were out, began to beep indicating that someone was paging her.
"Tempest." She sighed.
"Tempest, are the boys with you?" Her husband growled out.
"No, dearest, they aren't. Last I saw them, they were in the Hall of Justice still." Tempest said with a small smirk. She was happy that the mini heroes took her advice and went on the mini mission to not only prove things to their mentors but also to themselves.
