Chapter Fifteen

The next day

Percy hadn't talked to Bruce or anyone really since the night before; she had sequestered herself in the library and stayed there. She had plenty on her mind. Not only what Dick and Jason had gone through the night before with their friends, and not only with how Bruce had acted, but also about her new brother and cousins. She had been out of the demigod world long enough that she just knew that as soon as she stepped one foot back in, something would happen.

She had a family now a husband, three sons, and three toddlers. Percy didn't want to get involved in the bloodshed and tears that would come with integrating herself back into that part of her life. She had basically been sticking to meeting up with her friends outside of both camps on the anniversary of the two wars and a couple other times throughout the years and then meeting up with her father once a month and that was it.

She groaned and covered her eyes hunching over. Her head was killing her as the stress built. She knew that she should talk it over with Bruce but she needed to calm her thoughts first.

Then a hand touched her back gently causing her to jerk her head up and meet the concerned blue eyes of her husband crouched in front of her.

So consumed in her thoughts she had been, that she didn't even hear him come in or close the door behind him. She smiled weakly at him.

"Bruce."

"Percy, what's wrong?"

Percy shook her head and sniffed once sitting up in the chair instead of being hunched over. "Nothing, I'm fine."

Bruce sighed and took one of her hands into one of his own, raising it to kiss the back of it. "Percy, we've known each other for a long time and I know that you are anything but fine now. If you don't want to talk about it now, we won't but you should know that when you do, I'll be there for you."

Percy felt her heart flutter and felt herself fall in love with this man again. He stood up still holding her hand and tugged her along and led her over to the couch and sat down, bringing her down with him causing her to straddle his lap and bury her face into his neck. His strong arms came around her waist and hugged her snugly to his body as the two drew comfort from the presence of the other and just basked in the silence.

"Luke contacted me yesterday before you comm'd me." She felt him stiffen but he didn't say anything, simply let her continue. "It seems that I have a younger brother and two cousins - one from each of my uncles - that are mostly outcasts at camp. And their powers are becoming out of control. According to Luke, I'm the last resort for getting the three help."

He breathed deeply and remained tense but raised a hand and stroked her long raven locks gently. "You do know that once you step back in, you'll most likely get dragged into the next conflict that comes since you'll become attached."

She sighed deeply before leaning back so she could meet his eyes. "I know. And that's mostly what I've been contemplating. I have you and the boys and Alfred and my work... but I feel like I'm obligated to at least go and see how bad it is for them. I know how it is to be in their position, to be feared by the rest of the camp and to be scared of your own capabilities."

Bruce cupped her head and leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. "I know, love, I know. And I'll support you in any decision you make, you know this... You also have been thinking about last night as well."

Percy sighed and buried her face back into his neck. "We were having a moment, Sunshine. Don't ruin it."

He chuckled softly and moved his head slightly to kiss the side of her head. "Sorry, Killer... I just wanted you to know that I am sorry for how I spoke to you last night and that you were right. It is time for the two of them to become their own heroes."
