Connie walks up to reception where Noel and Louise are. The phone rings. Connie picks it up. After a few minutes of chatting she puts the phone down.
"Noel, go and gather everyone immediately, I have an announcement." Says Connie, as she looks around the hospital. All she can see are nurses escorting patients to cubicles and consultants walking here and there.
After five minutes Noel returns with a bunch of the team: Cal, Ethan, Rita, Zoe, Dylan, Tess, Charlie, Max, Lily and a load of nurses.
"Right everybody, listen up. We've got a tram derailment. Several casualties involved, most still being rescued from the tram. It crashed into a tunnel. I have bad news though. Two of our members have been involved in the accident - Robyn and Honey..."
As Connie finishes her sentence, Noel's head jolts up, as does Ethan's.
"...Now, I need us all to be sensible about this. Cal, Zoe, Dylan, Lily, Tess and myself will treat Robyn. Ethan, Rita and Charlie can you take Honey. Furthermore we have a unidentified male on his way in. The remainder of you will treat him. I'll be around if anyone needs me, but my primary focus is on Robyn, am I clear?"
As Connie sternly finishes her speech, Noel looks up and snaps. "So what? Honey isn't your priority?" Louise looks at Noel, and holds her hand up to his shoulder. He brushes her hand away.
"That's not what I said, Noel. I understand Honey was once part of our team, and anyone who has been part of our team will always be a part of our team. But Robyn's condition is critical. Compared to Robyn, Honey has a minor injury. I need you to stay professional, Noel, and if you do not think you'll be able to keep your composure then I'll have send you home." Connie snaps back.
Noel stands up out of the office-type chair he is sat in. Connie gives him a paralyzing glare. He instantly sits back down.
"Okay everyone, are we ready?" Asks Connie. As she completes her sentence Dixie explodes through the door, holding the trolley which Robyn lies in.
"Okay guys, it's Robyn. She was involved in the tram crash. She's been unconscious since the accident and has failed to regain consciousness since. She's suffered severe smoke inhalation, she has a head injury and is on high flow of oxygen, GCS of 7, resps of 14, a pulse of 86 with a BP 110/70." Explains Dixie, whilst transferring Robyn into Resus. "Let's get her over please in one, two, three." And on three the team pull Robyn over.
After the team move her over they all get to work. Connie begins the primary survey, while Cal checks the legs for any signs of broken bones. Dylan goes to the clipboard, while Zoe, Tess and Lily also help to check the body over.
Noel and Ethan both wait by the reception desk for Honey. She is then wheeled through the doors as well, fully conscious and upright. She has an empty sick bowl on her lap, and her arm is in a sling. Both Noel and Ethan bolt over to her bed, followed by Rita and Charlie.
"Let's get her to cubicles, please." Demands Charlie, wasting no time. They all walk over to the cubicles.
"Are you okay, love?" Asks Noel sincerely yet panicked. The adrenaline flows fast through his body.
"I'm fine. It's Robyn you should all be fussing over." Replies Honey sweetly.
"Alright, Honey?" Asks Ethan, a little discomforted. "How's the wrist feeling?"
"It's painful, very painful." Replies Honey.
Noel walks off after the emotions overwhelm him. Honey leans forwards as if she was going to get off her bed and follow. Charlie weakly restrains her back into her pillow.
"He's in shock, I'd give him time. Let's get you sorted first Honey and then we'll let you go." Charlie says softly.
"It's not the shock though, Charlie." Honey replies. Ethan looks up at Honey, and gives her an uneasy stare. "No, I'm sorry Ethan, I can't keep this any longer. Can I tell you a secret, Charlie?" Asks Honey. Charlie leans in inquisitively.
