Rule #8 - Don't start a fight you cant finish

Day - 23

Gwen -

Cody hasn't spoken in three days, hes completely isolated himself. We're all concerned, hell even heather is. Hes stated in the cabins ever since we got back, I'm not blaming him, we found his...friend? dead. I've been staying just outside his cabin, I want to give him space but dont want anything to happen. After a few hours, the sun starts setting. It's a calming evening.

Just as I said that, I see Geoff and Bridgette running past everyone, into the forest. Everyone looks at eachother, silently knowing what event is about to unfold. I quickly get up, run into the cabin with Cody. He looks at me, about to say something, I put my finger over my lips to insinuate we need to be quiet. His eyes are read and puffy, hes obviously been crying. I hear the commotion outside and I slowly but a chair in front of the door, I know that wont do shit but it would make me feel better. I go and sit beside cody, who has his knees to his chest. "He wouldnt want this, Cody." I begin.
"You dont know what he would want." He says sharply, his tone is cold. "I know he wouldnt want you curled up in a ball isolating yourself, putting yourself in danger." I say, my tone not faltering. "He didn't deserve this, he didnt have to die." He says. "None of them deserved it, Cody. The only thing we can do is try to move on, I dont mean forget him, I mean try to continue life not clouded by guilt." I turn so I'm sitting facing him. "He wouldnt want you putting yourself in danger." I repeat myself. He nods, I open my arms and he just falls into them, sobbing.

No ones POV -

Although Geoff and Bridgette were the first to start running, they took a different route and ended up circling back to camp. Unlucky for them, the killer was still there. Waiting. He noticed them and began running full speed in their direction, the group ran aswell. The group, consisting of Geoff, Bridgette and Harold, made it to the campfire, the killer following closely behind. They were getting pretty far, until Harold tripped over an unseen tree stump. He hit the deck, and Bridgette, being the nice human being she is, returned to help him. Once they got up, Harold bolted it, leaving Bridgette behind. She turned and saw the killer gaining on her. She ran, but unfortunately couldnt put much space between them. She was grabbed my the shoulder and pulled back the way. She didnt even have time to scream before she was pushed sideways into the lit fire pit. Her clothes cot on fire almost immediately, the killer standing over her. Her first thought was to get up, and she did, only to be pushed back down by the killer looming above, watching the carnage. She could feel her skin burning, he blood boiling. She could smell her own flesh. She no longer had the strength to fight. She eventually lost consciousness after just 60 seconds, but she could still feel the fire peeling away her flesh and muscles into nothingness. It was excruciating. After a painful two minutes, Bridgette stopped breathing and passed away due to her injuries. She also died alone, being left behind.

After a few hours, everything calmed down, Geoff wanted to head back and find Bridgette, the others protested, they knew what had happened. When someone goes missing from the group, there is a 100% chance they are dead. No matter what the group said they could not convince Geoff to stay, and he left without another word. Some of the other guys followed to make sure they didnt loose another camper. The first place they checked was the fire pit. Just as they finished tracking up that hill, Geoff froze. "Bridge..?" He said, his words trembling. He ran. He ran right over to bridgette and tried to grab her. "Shit!" He exclaimed and pulled his arm back, his arm was now red and burning from putting it in the fire. He didnt care about that. He grabbed Bridgette and tried again to pull her out the fire. He failed again. "Well dont just stand there, Help me!" He yelled at the group, his face covered with tears. With some others help, they got Bridgette out of the fire. Geoff just kneeled beside her, her body was too hot to touch so Geoff couldn't even embrace his love. He just whispered apologies over and over to Bridgette, hoping she could hear him and find it in her to forgive him.
