Rule #4 - Don't look at his face
Day #10
No ones POV -
The whole group left in the early morning, they believed the could find an escape, an extra boat, even those old canoes would work, but nothing. Everything was gone. They decided it was safer with everyone going, after what happened with Sadie and Katie. They had to bring Katie, they didnt want her staying on her own. Did they?
Everyone was walking in silence, trying to find their way back to camp, they were all in groups of 2's or 3's to make sure no one went missing, all except for Justin. No one wanted to partner with him and he, himself didnt want a partner. He thought he was too good for it. Key word, thought.
Not even a whole 10 minutes went by before Justin was swiftly grabbed, a hand covering his mouth, now Justin was a big guy; muscle wise, but he was still no match for this man. If you could even call him one. Once they were far enough that no one could hear him, he was dropped and dragged by the hair towards a space close to were Lindsay was found. Near the lake.
All you could hear was Justin's pleads for him not to touch his face, the only thing Justin had left.
If Justin had kept his mouth shut, maybe his face would still be attached to his head.. He was alive when it happened, he felt every inch of the blade under his skin, peeling his skin off. Even worse, after the killer had finished his 'makeover', he showed Justin what he looked like in the mirror Justin carried on him. He could see the muscles in his face move as he cringed in pain and disgust. You could see the life drain from his eyes.¹
The killer didnt even have the decency to give him a good place to rest, he just dumped him like trash on the side of the road. Like he was nothing, because that's what Justin was too him. Nothing.
The group made it back. They got back to the camp before sunrise. Not until then did they realise they were missing someone, again. This is becoming a trend that everyone was dreading. Everyone automatically went looking, some stayed at camp to insure they didnt loose it for a second time. Trent checked near the waters, Geoff and some others checked the woods. Trent was the 'lucky' one to find Justin. His face was torn clean off. It made Trent feel faint. He threw up not to far away from him. He couldnt look away. Sure, Justin could be a self absorbed dick, but no one deserves this. This is horrible.
Justin is dead, stuck in a place were he can look at nothing else but his own reflection. To him, it was as if he was stuck in Purgatory and he was. In a way.
This chapter seems very short so I'm really sorry about that, but it seemed more detailed and more gruesome to write, I think I captured it pretty well though, I hope you enjoyed and see you soon.
