"Here," I said and stopped still near the path almost close to the edge of the woods before we reached her house. "Go ahead and put your clothes and shoes on before we leave the safety and cover of the woods."

Serenity stopped and looked down to see that she was still in her bra and underwear with no shoes on. "Oh," she said, and her cheeks grew red before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" she asked and handed me her shoes and phone.

My cheeks turned redder, and Mel bit back a small laugh because I was just as nervous as her. "Umm... well... I... I..."

"Because he is used to this," Mel said, unable to hold back her laughter while I tried to stammer out something and not sound like a creep. "There are many times when some of my sisters and I will walk around in our bras and undies, and he doesn't pay attention to it."

"Seriously?" Serenity asked and raised an eyebrow, and my sister nodded. She blinked and blinked again, impressed and nervous. "That's... interesting." She started to put her clothes on.

I shrugged and handed her shoes to her after she finished putting on her jeans and shirt. "It's just normal for us."

She pressed her lips into a thin line and slowly nodded. Her cheeks were still red, and I could tell that she was just as embarrassed as me.

"I really wish you didn't have to see me dressed like that..." she said hesitantly while she placed on her shoes, and I raised an eyebrow in question.

"Why not?" I asked, and I couldn't help but be amused, and she looked down and shrugged while a blush took over her face. "Come on, Seren, you can tell me," I coaxed gently. I groaned at my sister when she cleared her throat and raised both her eyebrows before I looked at my mate, my cheeks turning red. "Well us."

She hesitated before she shrugged and slowly nodded, and I gave her her phone. "It's... just that... I don't know..." She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet while she trailed off again, and her cheeks grew redder.

My heart broke, and I couldn't help but feel slightly sad that she felt this way. "Do you feel insecure about yourself?" I asked, softly, and my mate looked down and shrugged, not responding.

"Serenity, you are gorgeous," Mel said while she looked at my mate. "Believe me, there is nothing wrong with you, and you will find someone who loves you, insecurities and all." She looked at me when she said that and winked before she looked at her again.

"She's right," I said and nodded. "You'll find someone that loves you for the way that you are and nothing will change that."

Because I do... I added silently and bit the inside of my lip. I love you just the way that you are.

"Oh," Serenity said, and her cheeks turned softly red. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet while she looked this way and that before she looked at me. "Will you be walking me to the door?" she asked while she cocked her head and studied me.

'I don't think that would be a good idea,' Mel said, and I bit the inside of my lip harder because I had the same feeling.

It could be dangerous...

I smiled sadly and shook my head before I cleared my throat. "Unfortunately, I can't," I said, and Serenity's face grew sullen.

"Oh," she said and looked down, her voice barely above a whisper. Her voice trembled slightly, and I couldn't help but curse my luck and whatever was going on with me. "Ok."

"But I will be here to make sure that you get in safely," I added, "and my door is always open for you."

She tried to smile, but it didn't reach her eyes.

Oh, Goddess, please let her understand that this is for not only her safety but mine... I silently prayed. Please, I hate seeing her this upset..

Serenity sighed and shook her head. "I'll see you tomorrow?" she asked while she dipped her head close to her chest, and I nodded. Hope filled her voice, and I bit back a small smile while I nodded.

"Yes," I said. "You will see me tomorrow. We do have school anyway, and I am helping you out with that." I shrugged and stuffed my hands into my pockets, and Serenity breathed a sigh of relief while she nodded.

"Ok, good," she said. "Then I guess that it is goodbye." She smiled slightly and waved before she walked to the front of the house, and both of us watched her, making sure that she stayed safe.

Melody sighed and shifted on her feet, growing serious. "Do you think that she will be able to see us before then?" she asked while she glanced at me from the corner of her eye.

I shrugged and grimaced while I pressed my lips into a thin line. "I don't know," I admitted, wondering the same thing but praying that she could.

Melody nodded. "If she does, then I will stay with you until you don't need me," she said, and I sent her a grateful look. She nudged my shoulder and smiled innocently. "It means that we get to get out of training, right?" She raised an eyebrow while she grinned mischievously.

I bit back a small laugh and shook my head. "Unfortunately, we still have to train. We still have a pack to protect, and you have a mate that might either be an Alpha or a Beta. You need to make sure that you can keep the Price name alive." I nudged her teasingly.

Melody laughed and moved with my nudge. "And the Carter female kicking ass that Mom started."

"True," I said and nodded. "Now, come on, let's go ahead and go train before we are needed somewhere else."

"Or before Serenity needs you." She winked teasingly, and my cheeks grew red.

"Shut up," I said and nudged her.

And with that, we walked away after Serenity was inside the house safe and sound.

Goddess, please protect her. Please.
