I stopped at the pack house and looked at my siblings, parking the car and unlocking the door. "Ok," I said and tapped on my steering wheel, feeling very anxious and nervous for some reason. "The bus has stopped and is at home. Everyone, get out so that I can get the rest of our siblings." I looked at my phone to make sure that I didn't have any messages before I looked at them, not knowing how I felt.

"I'm staying with you, TJ," Mel said, and I bit back a small sigh of relief, grateful that she wanted to stay and watch my back, even though I didn't need it. "I'm sorry to make you sad or mad, bu-"

"You aren't making me sad or mad, Mel," I said and shook my head, interrupting her, and she scowled playfully and narrowed her eyes. "I'm grateful that you are staying with me, Mel."

"Why?" Kerri asked while she raised an eyebrow, pausing at the car door even after the rest of the siblings had left and went to do whatever they needed to do. "Why are you happy that she is staying with you?" She looked at Mel before she looked at me.

"Well, because he is happy that I want to make sure that his ass stays safe, duh," Mel said while she rolled her eyes and scowled. "Some spooky stuff seems to have been happening to him, and it is causing our brother to feel very unnerved and worried for his safety and ours."

I rolled my eyes and pressed my lips into a thin line but didn't say a word while she flashed me a small smirk and then winked before she turned her attention back to my younger sister.

What she had said was true, I was feeling unnerved and worried about what was happening to our family, and I couldn't help but pray that nothing bad was going to happen to my siblings, to me, or to my mate.

My younger sister pressed her lips into a thin line. She looked at Melody before she looked at me again. She didn't say a word while she looked between us, and I could tell that she was worried about what the future held for not only me but all of us as well.

"I'll watch his back," Mel promised while she dipped her head closer to her chest before she cleared her throat and shifted in her seat, growing serious. "I mean, that is what family is for, especially since he is going to be our future Alpha when either Mom and Dad retires or they die." She flashed me a wink, and I rolled my eyes again while I scowled.

"Very funny, Mel," I grumbled coldly, and she grinned innocently. I bit back a small sigh and shook my head before I looked at Kerri and offered her a tight smile. "I'll be fine, Kerri," I said while I shrugged and grimaced before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "Mom's keeping a close eye on me and so are Aenes and Addama."

Kerri furrowed her brows and pressed her lips into a thin line. She didn't say a word, and I could tell that she was fighting with herself because she wanted to stay in the car with Mel and I, but she also wanted to leave and get other stuff done.

"Go, Ker Bear," I said, calling her by her nickname that I had given her so long ago. I smiled when she scowled and narrowed her eyes, amused. "I have Mel to watch my back. I'll be fine. I know that you want to do something else, even though I don't know what, and I want you to do that instead of coming with me, with us." I glanced at Mel when she cleared her throat before I looked at Kerri again.

Kerri bit back a small sigh before she slowly nodded, relenting. "Ok," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Do you want me to tell Mom and Dad where you are and where you are going?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

"Please," I said and nodded in confirmation before I tapped my finger against the steering wheel. "Also, tell Dad that I want to talk to him when I get back with the rest of our siblings."

"Ok," she said and nodded. "I will do that before I do what I need to do." She paused and cleared her throat while she shifted on her feet. "Now, please, be careful." She gave me a Mom look, and I couldn't help but smile and dip my head close to my chest, becoming more amused with each passing second that she looked at me like that. "Is that understood?"

"Yes, Mom," I teased, and she rolled her eyes and scowled. "Now, go ahead and go. Ok? I will contact you when I get back from picking up the others so that you know that we are safe."

"Promise?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, and both Mel and I couldn't help but look at each other, not knowing why she was acting like this and wondering if she knew something that we didn't.

I smiled and bowed my head while I looked at her again, deciding that I would ask her what she meant and if she knew something when I got back. "I promise," I said. "I will get in touch with you as soon as I am back."

Satisfied with my answer, Kerri nodded and closed the door of my van and started to make her way toward the house, and I waited to make sure that she got in safely.

Mel cleared her throat and shifted in her seat, and I glanced at her from the rearview mirror before I looked at the house to see that Kerri made it to the house and was about to enter it. "Are we going to..." She trailed off, not able to finish her sentence.

"Yep," I said and nodded, knowing full well what she wanted to talk about.

Why was she so worried about me..?

"Do you have the same feeling as me?"

"Possibly," I replied while I shrugged and grimaced before I cleared my throat and tapped my thumb against the steering wheel before I looked at the house again. "We can talk when she gets inside the house and we are on our way to pick up the others, ok?" I raised an eyebrow in question white I glanced at her in the rearview mirror again.

"Ok," she said. She cleared her throat while she shifted in her seat, breathing a sigh of relief.

Kerri paused at the front door and looked at the van, worry filling her eyes. She smiled when she caught my eyes and waved us goodbye before she entered the house, closing the door behind her.

"Hmph," I said, starting the car again while I started to back out of the driveway. "Well, that is interesting."

Mel let out a breathless laugh before she slowly nodded. "You can say that again," she said.

"Th-"

"Don't even think about it, TJ," Mel said, interrupting me from saying it again, and I bit back a small smile. She scowled and narrowed her eyes while she looked at me, trying but failing to hide a smile. "I know what you are going to do, and you are going to regret it, TJ."

"How?" I asked while I raised an eyebrow in question. I looked at her before I started to drive the van toward the elementary school. "How am I going to regret it?"

"Don't know," she replied while she shrugged and grimaced. "I don't know how you are going to regret it, but you are going to."

I bit back a small snort while I rolled my eyes and scowled. "Very funny, Mel," I said sarcastically while she grinned at me innocently. "Very funny."
