Serenity frowned and cocked her head, studying me with those brilliant blue eyes of hers. "I think that there is such a thing as magic," she said slowly. She blushed and cleared her throat, licking her lips when I didn't reply but stared at her in shock. "I-I'm sorry, I... didn't mean to tell you that."

"Why not?" I asked, cocking my head. I watched as she looked down before looking back up at me. "Are you saying that you believe in magic?"

Serenity hesitated but nodded her head. "Yes," she said. "I... believe in magic. My... father and mother hate that I believe in magic. I... accidentally told them that, and..." She shrugged. "They told me that magic wasn't real, but... there are things that I can't explain."

"Such as..?" I raised an eyebrow. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I was ecstatic that she believed in magic. It meant that a part of her remembered the world that she had been a part of growing up. I knew that Aenes used to do magic in front of us all the time, creating flowers out of thin air and giving them to her.

Serenity furrowed her brows and looked at her hands. "An old man used to create... flowers out of thin air and hand them to me," she said, looking up at me. "He did it about once a week when my mom and I went shopping. I don't think... she ever knew, but I know that she questioned about the flowers."

My mouth went dry, and I stared at her in shock. "What were the flowers?" I asked, my voice holding something in it that made her look at me weirdly. "Or do you recall what it was?"

"Forget me not," she said. She narrowed her eyes at me when she caught my eyes go wide. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is... it something that I said?"

I shook my head and moved a hand across my face, deciding that it would be best not to tell her. "Sorry, sorry," I said. "I think I am just tired. It's been a stressful and a very eventful day." Tiredness filled my voice, and it caused Serenity to frown when I looked at her.

"Do... you want me to leave?" she asked, hesitantly. She didn't want to leave, but I knew that she couldn't stay here long.

If her parents found out that she was staying here, they could potentially lock her up and make it so that she couldn't visit me. That would cause my wolf and I to become very panicked, and I knew that my mother would be forced to order me not to go near her.

"For now," I said solemnly. I watched as she looked down, my heart breaking because I knew that she was disappointed. "We still have that thing tomorrow. Do you want to meet earlier? I don't mind."

"What time, though?" she asked. She looked excited, and I couldn't help but be excited as well. She didn't realize that she was my mate, but she felt the effects of being my mate.

I shrugged. "Seven or eight?" I asked. "I'm usually up at five, but I have training and won't be done till about six-thirty. Would that work for you?"

Serenity nodded her head, looking eager. "Yes," she said. "That would work for me." She furrowed her brows. "But... don't you have to take a shower?"

"I don't take long showers," I replied, "so I will be ready by the time you want to meet."

"Ok..." She furrowed her brows. "Then, can you start showing me around at seven? I... think that I will be able to sneak out of the house..."

I nodded my head. "Just be careful," I warned. I paused and cleared my throat, remembering what Addama had warned me to do. "Do... you mind if my sister, Melody, comes with us?"

Serenity raised her eyebrow and gave me a look. She looked to be a little upset that we wouldn't do it on our own, but she didn't question it. "Why? Do you need a bodyguard?" she asked.

"Yes," I replied simply. I bit back a smirk when I saw her looking at me, shocked. "What? She is the perfect person to keep people away from us while we talk, and I show you around the places that you had forgotten."

Serenity nodded her head and furrowed her brows. "I guess... this means goodbye?" she asked solemnly.

I nodded my head, my heart breaking. I didn't want her to go, but I knew that she had to get back before her parents found out that she was missing. "Yes," I said.

"I... don't know if I can fall asleep," she said. "Your presence..." She trailed off and rubbed her head while she shook it. "Never mind," she said gravely. "It's too stupid. Forget what I said." Her voice was bitter, and I could tell that she did not want me to forget about it but to question her.

I shook my head. "No," I said. "I will not forget about it." A thought occurred to me, and I took off the shirt that I was wearing. "Here," I said, handing it to the wide-eyed female. "This should help."

"Wh- heh?" she asked speechless.

"My presence makes you feel safe, correct?" I asked. I watched as she slowly nodded her head. "Then, my scent could help you sleep at night. It'll help you feel more comfortable."

"But a shirt? Why not a pillow?" she asked.

I gave her a small look, frowning. "It'd be harder to hide a pillow than a shirt," I said.

Serenity hesitated but took the shirt from me. Sparks flew from our fingertips as she grabbed the shirt. "Umm..." She cleared her throat and clutched it to her chest. "I... have to go now."

I nodded my head, my heart breaking. "Uh, ya, ya. I'll show you out." I cleared my throat and stood, making my way to the balcony.

"Aren't you going to show me out the front door?" she asked.

"No," I replied simply, unlocking the door. I flashed her a smirk when I felt her scowl and opened the doors. "You are going the way that you came. Don't worry; I won't toss you over."

"That is good to know," Serenity said, walking over to me. "Is there a reason why?"

"Questions," I replied. "And, unless you want to be stopped by my mom, you might want to take this way." I gave her a pointed look and watched as she closed her mouth. "You can later, but it is time for you to go."

Serenity hesitated but nodded her head. "Ok," she whispered. "I'll see you at seven?"

I nodded and backed into my room before doing something stupid. "I will see you at seven," I confirmed. Quickly, I shut the doors and locked it. I was glad that I had a dark cloth over the door and listened as she stood there, shocked before going down the way she came.

I took a deep breath and moved a hand across my face, feeling guilty to shut her out like that. However, if I didn't, then I knew I would have pulled her near me and kissed her on the lips.

She didn't need that right now. She was still "learning" about the community she had left behind and didn't remember. She didn't know about Werewolves or mates, and I knew that she could be intimidated by it, especially having a very possessive mate like me.

I groaned and moved towards my bed, exhausted. I had no idea what tomorrow would bring, but I knew that it would bring me a harder time to control my wolf and me.

Goddess, please don't let me lose control on her. I did not want to scare her at all.
