Asami
Asami sobbed into her pillow. Her life was perfect before, but it was now in shambles. She didn't know where it went wrong, but it did somewhere down the line.
No.
She was alone in their room, her tears streaming down her face as she contemplated the reason why things had gone awry, but who was she kidding? She knew what had gone wrong. Korra just told her. And that was why she was all alone in their room, crying her heart out. Even their kid wasn't at the house. All that remained were Asami's thoughts and emotions, which kept washing over her like an unrelenting wave.
Asami yearned for her Alpha's embrace, wishing that Korra would be there to reassure her everything was going to turn out alright. But at this moment in time, she had never felt more alone.
She was solely to blame for her mate leaving.
10 Years Ago
"Go, Korra!!" The Omega shouted at the top of her lungs. Her girlfriend just scored a goal just before the end of the first half. She was out there being a monster on the field. Korra had already scored 2 goals, but Asami could see that she was still in the zone. That was obvious, it was the championship game against their rival, the Ba Sing Se Badgermoles, and her Alpha brought her A-game.
The score was 2-2. It was a close and tight game. The whistle blew, signaling the start of the second half. After a few minutes, both teams struggled to score a goal as their defenses were on point. Asami saw Korra looking seriously over the field as she sat on the bench, probably analyzing what play she should make once she went out on the field again.
She had been watching Korra play ever since they were in high school, but even years later, watching her girlfriend play was always a delight for the Omega. Korra's muscles rippled with her every move, making Asami drool.
Another whistle blew, and Asami saw Korra subbed in as she ran out on the field with renewed vigor. She was calm and collected while her powerful legs carried her through the plays.
Asami was nervous for her girlfriend. This was her dream. If she won the championship, then all the professional scouts would likely draft her on their team, even if she was still a college freshman. She hoped and prayed to all the Spirits to help guide Korra toward victory.
Then it happened at the last minute of the game. Her Alpha scored a goal with only a sliver of an opening! It was a miracle how she slipped the ball through two defenders. Asami roared with the crowd as they cheered for their team.
Korra ran through the field with wide arms, celebrating with her teammates. Then she looked up at the crowd, instantly finding and pointing at Asami in the stands. The Omega waved and blew her a kiss while the crowd cheered and whistled. Everybody on campus knew they were a couple. They were the power couple in RCU.
The game resumed, but the Badgermoles were done. They didn't have the time to score another goal to tie, and as the final buzzer sounded, the RCU Fire Ferrets won the championship that year.
She was so happy for Korra, and Asami couldn't wait to celebrate with her girlfriend. It was a good thing her surprise was already set up.
Asami waited outside the locker room for the Alpha. She was sure that her girlfriend would get caught up with the press and other fans clamoring to get her interview, or autograph, or whatever.
Fifteen minutes later, Korra finally emerged from the locker room and immediately ran to Asami. She yelped when her Alpha lifted her up in the air.
"Asami! Did you see my goal? Oh, gosh, we won! Oh, fuck. I can't believe it!" Her Alpha said excitedly while spinning them around.
