Ahmed's POV

"Dude, are you serious?!" Bilal asked astonished.

"For the tenth time, YES BILAL!"

"Okay. So you're telling me you are getting married to the girl that shoved ice-cream in your beard AND the girl because of whom you lost in ice-skating? Wow what a co-incidence." He said, clearly not believing what was happening. I nodded my head for the hundredth time.

After my family and I returned from Ayesha's house, I agreed to marry her. She had a great personality, she was a pious woman and had an amazing relationship with her family. What more can I ask for? My parents were over the moon and decided to call Ayesha's family. Her family was quite happy and the alliance was now fixed. I am now playing play station in my room whilst Bilal is walking around my room while keeping his eyes on me.

After I had told Bilal about Ayesha 2 days later, he just stared at me wide eyed and since then, I'm trying to make him believe that I'm not bluffing. I wonder why he didn't visit me the same day I returned from Ayesha's house and only showed up 2 days later.

Bilal tried to take in all that I said and after a few minutes he jumped on me and gave me a hug. "Congratulations brother!" he nearly strangled me!

"Thanks Bilal. Now get off me. I nearly got killed by the cops!"

"What?!!" he said wide eyed, pulling away.

"I'm talking about the game, idiot." I replied pointing at the TV screen. He rolled his eyes.

After a while, I got tired of playing the game and switched it off.

"So...when is the wedding?" he asked.

I shrugged. "They are still thinking about the date. But the engagement will take place soon, maybe in a month or two." I smiled.

"That's great news bro." Bilal replied with a genuine smile on his face.

But after a few minutes he spaced out. "Bilal?" I called out. No reponse.

"Hey Bilal." I said shaking his shoulders. "huh? Sorry what were you saying?"

"What's wrong Bilal?" I asked worried.

"I hope she's okay." That's all he said and then left after greeting me.

Who was he talking about?

*2 weeks later*

Ayesha's POV

It has been 2 weeks since Ahmed and his family visited us. Ahmed is an amazing person. After our alliance had been fixed, we talked a few times over the phone.

I later found out that my 3 idiotic friends had to leave when Ahmed and his family came to our house as Ameena's mother had to be admitted to the hospital. She apparently got hit by a drunk driver who is now in jail. When I found out I was so shocked. I paid a visit to Ameena's mom the next day.

——flashback——

Ameena looked so depressed when I reached the hospital. Her face was pale and her eyes were bloodshot red. She was sitting beside her mom crying her eyes out. It was heart-wrenching to see Ameena like this. I felt a tear slid down my cheek and quickly wiped it away.

"Ameena?" I said, placing a hand on her shoulder. She turned around and hugged me tightly crying even more.

I rubbed her back "shh, it's going to be alright." I said, trying to console her.

Ameena's mother had lost a lot of blood and this was a problem, seeing that she was o-positive and this blood group was very rare to find. I was later informed that thankfully, some guy named Bilal donated his blood. Ruqaiyya said that he was Ameena's neighbor as well as colleague and apparently Ameena and him were always arguing. It was really nice of him to help Ameena out. It was also him, who informed Ameena about the accident and took her mother to the hospital whilst Ameena, Ruqaiyya and Razia were getting me ready for Ahmed's arrival.

It has been 4 hours but Ameena's mom hadn't moved nor opened her eyes.

Ameena only had her mother and was the only child. Her father passed away in a plane crash 3 years ago. She would not be able to handle it if her mom was gone too.

The doctor walked in and Ameena and I looked at him expectantly. "Although the lost blood has been replaced, the patient has unfortunately slipped into coma."

-—-end of flashback——

After the incident, My family and I requested Ameena to move to our house but she refused. She did not want to be a burden on anybody. After so many efforts, she was still reluctant. Ameena always did what she said. She lived alone but the girls and I often paid her visits. Her mother is still in coma and we often visit her. So far, there is no progress in her health.

My besties were all very happy when I told them about my alliance being fixed. They were shocked at first when I told them about Ahmed but later accepted him when they found out he was a nice guy.

I stepped into the house closing the door behind me. I just returned from Ameena's house.

"Ayesha! Assalamu Alaykum" Mariam ran towards me giving me a bone crushing hug.

"Potato! Wa alaykum salaam" Okay so Potato was a nickname given to Mariam by me. She is like obsessed with potatoes.

So, a quick recap. Mariam is my younger sister as I mentioned in chapter 1. All this while she was away. Her school planned a trip to Kruger National Park, so that explains why she wasn't present this whole time.

"How are you Ayesha? And how many times have I told you to stop calling me Potato!"

"Alhamdulillah. Pfft. As if I am going to obey your orders." I replied smirking

She rolled her eyes. "Hey guess what??!!"

"Umm...you finally decided to stop eating potatoes?" I guessed, giving her an amused smile.

"Nope. And that is never happening no matter how many times you call me Potato." She said sticking her tongue out.

"Then what?"

"Your engagement and wedding date has been finalized." My mom answered walking towards me with my dad.

"Really? When?" I enquired.

"Your engagement is this Sunday and your wedding takes place on the 2nd of December." My mom answered

"What?! Isn't the engagement too soon?" I replied.

"Yes, but ramadhaan is approaching and we wanted you to get engaged before that" My father replied.

I can't believe my engagement is this Sunday!
