-Aunt Kima, Aunt Kima! - A small, gray girl ran up to the girl.
"What happened, honey?" Kim smiled.
"Am I beautiful?" The girl found a small bracelet somewhere.
"Very." Kim grinned.
The girl laughed and began to spin.
"She's an ordinary child..." - Kima looked thoughtfully at the girl - "She didn't deserve this mistrust and fear, the baby is just not like everyone else, that's why they are afraid of her" - It was sad to realize this.
There was a knock on the door, which distracted Kim from her thoughts. Approaching the door, she opened it and was stunned.
"Mistress Kima?" said, judging by the form, one of the members of the founder's elite squad, which he formed to maintain peace and quiet in Takasaki.
-Y-yeah?
"If I'm not mistaken, a "gray child" lives with you?" the soldier clarified.
"She's not a "gray child"!" Shielding the girl with her body, Kim shook her head.
-Mistress Kima, we have orders...
-She didn't do anything, you can't take her away.
"I'm sorry," the soldier said without a shadow of regret. "But I still need to take her, that's the order."
"Aunt Kima?" The girl whispered, pressing herself against the girl's back.
"She doesn't even have a name, no one knows about her." Kim continued.
"We know about your recent loss," Kim shuddered. "And we are very sorry," the soldier continued. "But, believe me, this monster cannot replace your lost daughter."
Kima has almost completely forgotten her own past since Iona, her daughter, died at the age of three. The girl fell into depression and complete apathy; she could not even get up from the table. Nothing could help her, she only thought about the lost baby. Kasaki, as a good friend and long-time acquaintance, tried with all his might to support the girl, but nothing helped. When there was no longer any hope left, and Kima was about to go to her daughter from the constant pain of separation, she appeared. The gray baby reminded Kasaki terribly of the deceased daughter of an old friend, so, in the absence of adequate alternatives, he decided to give the girl up for adoption by Kima. Surprisingly, it helped! From the first day with the baby, Kima shone like a star; Kasaki almost never saw her sad next to the girl. She was able to stitch up the wound on Kima's chest and helped her come to her senses, without realizing it, because of which, Kima was eternally grateful to her and wanted to provide her savior with a normal childhood, after which the one who was unlike anything awakened in her , maternal instinct.
"I won't give it up." Kim didn't give up.
"I don't want to use force, but you leave me no choice." The soldier sighed.
Kima narrowed her eyes and prepared for battle.
"Move away," the soldier advised.
Kima tried to attack the man in uniform, but immediately found herself on the floor. Approaching the crying girl, the man grabbed her hand without a shadow of regret.
"Let go... her..." Kima whispered, holding out her hand to the girl.
Stretching out her small, gray hand, the baby tried to grab her "mother's" hand, but she was immediately pulled away.
"Where are you going?" The little girl whispered through tears.
Kima suddenly exploded and attacked the soldier from behind. Turning sharply, the soldier repelled the girl's attack and, twisting her arm, broke it. Kima's scream filled the house, the gray girl began to cry, she was filled with fear, but at that moment anger was stronger than it. Approaching the soldier, the girl kicked him with all her might. Grinning, the man kicked Kima and, tying her hands, turned to face the girl, when he suddenly froze. The gray baby was burning, her tears immediately evaporating on her face.
