"She's asleep. Can this wait?" Maverick sounded angry.
"I'm afraid not. She has valuable information we need to do this now." I opened my eyes and looked at the two very official-looking men standing at the bottom of my bed.
"What's going on?"
Maverick shifted a little like he was going to get up but I gripped him to keep him there. "Miss Frost I'm..."
"Not meant to be in here." The nurse said walking into the room. "And you shouldn't be in that bed."
"He's more comfortable than your pillows." The nurse tried to look unimpressed at me but she struggled to hide her smile at my comment.
"If you two have woken up my patient.."
"We must ask Miss Frost a very important question."
I yawned drawing attention to me. "Just ask then let me sleep."
"You sure Tia?"
I nodded at Maverick's question. "They are from the task force dealing with extremists. If they are here it's because they need to save lives, or so they say."
The nurse's eyes widened and she closed the door. "We need to know where you think Alpha has gone. He got away from us and..."
"He will be around my house with a small group of his followers. He will wait for me to come home. I'm sure that it can't be the same alpha, I'm sure he is dead. The wolves won't be without their alpha." The man that asked the question nodded and the other rushed out of the door.
"Are you ready to give us the others?"
I sighed. "I'm not giving you the ones that got out of the cult. They are safe and in hiding If they get visits from you people they will die."
The man nodded. "I had to ask. We've been down this road with you before."
"Yes and look where a visit from your people got me! You lead them right to me. Get out! I'm done with you!"
The man nodded closing the notebook he held. "Miss Frost I have to advise you if you keep saying no to us..."
"Yer yer you will be arrested for withholding information in a criminal investigation. Where did that get you last time? 40,000 lighter, that's where. Go away and stop badgering me."
The nurse opened the door and smiled. "She is done talking to you and I have some tests to do. Leave before I have you removed."
The man shook his head and left the room. The nurse put her hands on her hips after closing the door on the man. "Now you! I have to get a urine sample so you can leave."
Maverick chuckled and slid out from under me. "Can I get you something from the shop?"
