When a woman moves into the sleepy town, it rouses everyone's tongues to start wagging. She is strange and distant in her manner. Tia Frost is blissfully unaware of the townsfolk's discomfort with her. With Burt at her side, she wonders about the wo...

Standing in the room next to the interview room, I'd been watching the chief question, Tia. "It's a simple question, Miss Frost." Tia sat there staring at him.
I looked over at the doctor who yawned. "This seems like a bad plan. How will we know if she's having problems?"
The doctor shrugged. "I'm only going to intervene if I have to." Fat lot of good this guy is!
"Answer the question, Miss Frost!"
"I was at home." Tia's face was blank as she answered him.
I could see that she was tired and that was why she was being so flat. "You want us to believe you were at home all night?"
"Yes."
The chief opened a file and took out a report. "This says that you go out every night at 8 o'clock, returning 30 minutes later. Then you leave your home at 11 o'clock. What are you doing that late in the evening?"
She sighed and closed her eyes. "Not every night. Only when the full moon is out do I go out at that time."
"What are you doing?" She shook her head. "Are you refusing to answer the question?" She opened her eyes and stared at him.
He opened his folder and took out another report. "23:00 subject has left her home and has walked into the woods..." I recognised James's writing on the report. "She stopped and knelt down in a small clearing approximately half a mile from the house. She seems to be doing some kind of satanic ritual.."
She stood anger flaring for the first time since I met her. She's lost her temper. "Satanic? Really? Is that the conclusion you come to when you don't understand what the person believes? Or are you too stupid to realise that would be insulting?"
The chief smiled. "Oh, so you are a Satanist?"
She stared at him anger turning her face red. "No."
"Then what were you doing with those bones?"
She pulled her chair out and sat back down. She crossed her arms and glared at the chief. "This question is irrelevant!"
"I chose what is and isn't relevant to my investigation. So answer the question!"
I shook my head seeing her school her features and shake her head. I looked at my watch. "He's been at this for two hours and got nowhere. She's shutting down and if he keeps pushing her she will stop answering at all."
The doctor was staring at Tia. "Well, it's become interesting at least."
I sighed and walked to the door of the interview room. I knocked and opened the door. "What do you want?" The chief snapped at me.
"A word." He sighed, stood took the folder and walked out of the room.
As soon as the door shut he whispered furiously "I was getting somewhere, why pull me out?"
