Chapter Three: GET IT!

I stood at the cashier, covering for a workmate’s shift, I squint at a new arrival into the shop, SHIT! Taint smiled, Times like these, I wish I had a camera. I turn to him and growl, “Hi!” I look at Kent who smiled innocently, “Do you have the new anime series in yet, what is it called? Oh yeah! Naruto!” I gulp at the awkwardness between us, “Your name is Elliot?” He pointed at my tag, “THAT’S A COOL NAME!”

Taint scoffed, This is a real idiot right there, I looked at Kent intensely, “Let’s have a look,” I punch the keyboard in pure embarrassment, “Okay, yes we have it...” I leave the register and approach the shelf, “It’s not...here.” I look back and see the cashier return from his break, “It might be in the back, I’ll just be a moment.” I turn and rush to the back, and see my jacket with the guns exposed from the inside, “SHIT!” I yelled and shove the guns back into the pockets, my boss appeared behind me, “Oh, hey Kay!”

He looked at me with a frown, “Elliot, why are you swearing in my building?”

I look at him scared, Taint stood really close to me... VERY CLOSE, Fake an injury... I smirked, then clinch my hand, “OW! DAMN!” I shook my hand strongly, “I hit my hand on the chair...” I look at the Naruto series behind Kay’s head, “Yoink!” He looked at me confused, “A customer needed it...”

I walk to the exit, “Elliot!” I turn and Kay folded his arms.

I innocently smile, “Yes?” I mentally slapped myself.

He smirked, “Keep the language to a minimum,” I nod quickly, and he patted my jacket, “Nice jacket...”

I waved goodbye and rush to Kent, who sat on the convenient chair next to the register, “Here you go,” Kent smiled and took it from my hands, “Hang on,” I look at him with a grin, “You like anime?”

He nodded quickly, “I heard my boss liked it too, the new boss I got, his name I don’t know but he is cool!”

I laugh, “Kent-“ I cover my mouth, He looked at me confused, “Kentrio, it’s a new anime coming up!” I made up on the spot, “It’s about love, kidssss... it’s great...”

Kent laughed at me, “You made that up... So you know my name huh?”

I nod, “Yeah, I think I’ve seen you around somewhere,” I partially told him the truth, “I walk around town alot.”

He smiled, “Cool...” He walked to the register, and I look at the worker serving him, “I’ll see you around Elliot.” I nodded.

“Of course.” I smiled and left for the back, and see Kay with my jacket... wearing it... “Kay?” He jumped and threw off the jacket, and it fell to the floor... letting one of my guns scream a loud pitch, I grab the jacket quickly and hold it in my arms, “Why did you wear it?”

He laughed nervously, “Sorr- What was that noise?” I see the hole from where the gun fired, “Um, Elliot, keep this to yourself- I beg you.” I nod and put the jacket back on the chair, “Sorry...”

I nod and smile, “It’s alright...” I turn and look at the clock, “Five minutes left.. what can I do boss?”

He shrugged, “I don’t know... go home early, you deserve it kiddo.” I smile and grab my jacket, “Elliot,”

I look back and he threw a bullet at my feet, “I won’t tell anyone if you don’t.” I look up, “About me squealing...”

I close my eyes, “Sure,” I open the back door and close it quietly, “SHIT!” I yelled at the top of my lungs, Taint laughed in the distance, “Shut the fuck up!” I snapped at the Angel who kept laughing, “That’s it,” I turn and see him wipe the laugh completely, “You can eat shit, I am risking so many lives as I speak, why don’t you fuck off for once? Piece of shit.”

He shrugged, Listen, Elliot, I’ll follow that order one more time when you yell it, right now, your feeling angry, and to me, that’s a pity, but I can tell you now, your boss will keep it a secret. I looked at him confused, I CAN BE SINCERE ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!

I looked away, “Fine.” I turned and he walked next to me, “You know, you always make me calm after the storm...” I muttered and he stroked his red hair, I know, that’s why I’m awesome. I laughed, “You asshole.” He gasped dramatically, When am I not an asshole? I look at him and bit my lip, “Taint, why do you only follow me?” He smirked, That’s for you to find out, Like hell I’m going to tell you that, because it’ll be too easy, for you! I scratch my head, “What?” He shrugged, Ignore me...  I laughed, “But then I’ll have no one to talk to.” So you admit it, you like me! I shake my head, “I like you Taint, you’re an awesome pain in the ass friend.” Taint pouted, You still love me! DON’T YOU!? I nod and he smirked again, Elliot, you’re so fun to talk to, it’s weird. I looked at him and he cleared his throat, It’s just that, people I guided always ignored me, but you’re talking back, not knowing that you can seem like insane shit if someone saw you. I giggle and cough, “It’s getting cold yeah?” I turn and see a blue car stop behind me, Elliot... RUN! I took the hint and sprinted ahead, I turn and see two men charge at me, who seemed to have smug look on both their faces, NO TIME TO LOOK RUN RUNRUN! I turned and continued running, I hear a gunshot, then see Kent in front of me with a pistol in his hands, he looked at me with wide eyes, You can stop now. Taint leaned on the box that Kent was using for cover, “Hey?”

He dropped the gun, “Elliot?” I nod and he laughed nervously, “They have been hit with a tranquiliser, so it’s okay...”

I look at him confused, “Kent, thank you...”

He shrugged, “You seemed to have it under control, but I must add, you move like the boss.”

I looked at him confused, “The Boss?”

He nodded, “He’s cool!” He walked next to me.

I shake my head, “Cool, I’d like to meet him...”

He smiled, “Then go to this address,” He pulled a pen out and wrote on my arm, “Turn up!” I look at the address, “See you there!” He ran away.

I look at my arm closely, ignoring Taint’s blare of laughter, “... That’s MY meeting place...” I look up, and Taint whispered, Get it now?

I look at Taint, “Shit...” I look at him with a nervous look.

I walked into the campus office, Taint disappeared away slowly, “Bye.” I muttered to him, “Hey,” I showed the lady my campus pass, “I’m coming home from work.”

She nodded, “Sure!” I left the office through the campus door, and wandered for a moment, Taint smirked, Elliotttttttttttttt your girlfriend is over there.

I turned at the direction Taint was facing, and see Emily walking with books in her hands, I rush over to her, “Hey,” I take the books off her hands, and she smiled sweetly, I could see it by the distant light that showed half her face.

I felt her clutch to my arm, “Hi Elliot,” The darkness surrounded us, I slowly walk while she nuzzled my arm, “It’s cold...” She sneezed on my jacket, I instantly lose my carefree expression, “Sorry...”

I turn and hand her the books, “Here,” I take off my jacket, and Taint shook his head angrily, THE FUCKING GUNS! I gulp and hug her, she squealed at my quick move, I hastily take the guns using both my hands, and hide them from her, “Sorry,” I give her a normal hug, my guns still in hand.

She mumbled, and I withdraw from her, taking the books back, she looked at me confused, “Elliot... you’re weird...”

I nod, “I get that a lot...” I walk her to her dorm room, by now the guns were underneath all her books, “Why were you out here?”

She giggled, “I study,” She took the books off my hands, “Bye...” She kissed my cheek, and quickly retreated to her dorm room.

I stood there completely frozen, and touch my cheek, “What?” I turn and head to my dorm room in a zombie-like way, “Sh-Sh-“ I open the door and Tom was playing on his xbox, “She...” I fainted onto my bed.
