Draco's povHe didn't know exactly how or when he'd gotten here, but knew that it was very early this morning that he'd gotten up to look around after he couldn't sleep.
He'd went to the Room of Requirements, not really searching for anything in particular, and had found a large empty room with a golden cracked mirror at the end of it. He recognised it from his father's stories- the Mirror of Erised, or desire.
He approached it cautiously, before standing directly infront of it.
At first, he only saw himself, before he saw the image flashing before him.
He saw himself standing next to his mother, both of them smiling. He then saw himself surrounded by those who had died in the war, forgiving him.
It showed countless more beautiful images, none staying for more than a couple seconds, before after what felt like a decade finally came to an end. The mirror decided on one final image- Draco appeared to be standing with the golden trio. At first he was confused; why would his deepest desire be to be friends with these three?
But when he really thought about it, it all made sense really.
He saw Ron and Hermione laughing and holding hands. He then turned his attention to Harry, and he came to a shocking realisation..
They were also holding hands.

Scene: 17:08. Harry has been looking for Draco almost all day, but can't find him. He worries he's angered him somehow.
Harry's povEntering the long, seemingly empty hallway, Harry wandered aimlessly towards the Room of Requirements. He tried to get into a calming room, but it didn't work. He tried a few more times, before realising why it didn't work- someone was already there.
Getting his hopes up, he paces back and forth infront of the entrance, asking for the room which Draco Malfoy was in. Luckily for him, a door appeared, and he carefully pushed it open.
He saw the man he was looking for kneeling infront of a large mirror. He called out to him but he didn't seem to hear. As he approached closer, he realised just what mirror it was.
The Mirror of Erised
Harry remembered Dumbledore's old warning, and although he disagreed with a lot of things the daft old man said, he agreed with this one. He realised Draco must've been sitting there all day, and gently tried to catch his attention, but it didn't work.
He sighed softly and sat cross-legged next to him. He tried not to look into the mirror, but curiosity got the better of him.
At first, he saw the pair of them sitting there. And then he saw Ron and Hermione standing behind them, holding hands and laughing. He looked back down to himself, realising Draco hadn't moved. He assessed the imagine before him and quickly realised he and Draco were holding hands too.
Once he noticed this, the mirror version of them started moving. He tried his best not to get caught up in it, but found himself staring into it hopelessly.
What felt like then minutes, but was in reality almost two hours later, he finally managed to snap his head away. He checked the time, and realised that Draco must've have known how long he'd really been there either, and set about getting his attention again. He turned to him and shook his shoulder gently, but nothing worked. He tried a few other methods of getting him back to his senses before standing and walking infront of him.
