My leg shook up and down vigorously.

Why was I nervous?

I was in the Monaco airport picking up Vio and Theo. They had landed and they are now fully under my care. It was going to be difficult with all the traveling we were going to have to do but I knew we could manage. They turn 17 soon and will be stating their senior year of high school anyways. I felt extremely bad from stripping them of their senior year in the only school that they had ever been to. But I had to choose their safety over their happiness.

I just hope they make friends easily.

"Stel calm down, you guys are going to be just fine" Max said placing his hand over mine. I gave him a small smile in return and turned my focus back to to the gate the twins are supposed to come out of.

Max was here for emotional support because Tate could not. She had this meeting with her model agency and had to fly out to New York for the week and took Lando with her. They weren't officially dating but they were exclusive enough for the paparazzi to know.

Max had been staying at the house with us for the past three weeks. He came with us after the Spain Grand Prix and traveled with us to Canada and Austria. And he was traveling with us to Silverstone.

I was glad to have him with me as Tate spent less time with and more time working or with Lando. Max and I spent plenty of our time running, surfing, shopping, and partying. And the media was feeding into all of it. Sofia told me to be careful as Fred was not content with all the dating rumors but understood that we were just friends.

Max was well aware that something had happened with Charles but he didn't know any details. He would probably try to kill him if he finds out. Nonetheless Max has cheered me up and began to fix some of the cracks in my heart.

It hurt not being with Charles but I was determined to not let him play me again, especially after Barcelona. A week after Monaco he had shown up with that same girl from Italy. I learned her name was Charlotte but I had yet to talk to her, or Charles for that matter. We ignored each other unless we were screaming and fighting. Both Andrea and Sofia have told us we need to get our act together but nothing has changed.

When I took home Barcelona he blamed me for his DNF even though he had an engine failure. He screamed at me in Canada for not leaving enough room on a turn causing him to get P4 instead of being able to take my P3. And in Austria he called me every name in the book when we were at a club try to celebrate our 1-2 win, but he was upset I won over him again.

The truth is that I never try to hurt him back, I simply try to defend myself. Because at the end of the day he has every right to be mad and to scream and yell at me. I caused this hurt, I left him that morning in Monaco. It pained me, but I'm too prideful to let him see my weak side again. So instead of hurting him more, I take his hurtful words and replay them in my mind.

The same way I do with my father.

"Stel!!" I pulled out of my thoughts and saw Vio running towards me. I let go of Max's hand and ran towards her. I hugged her tightly and behind her walked Theo up to us. He had 7 suitcases with him, knowing at least 4 of them are Vio's. He had a hoodie and sweatpants on and nike dunks. He wore his headphones around his neck and had a tired look in his eyes but a big smile was plastered on his face.

"Hey Stel" He whispered pulling me into a bear hug.

I felt weight lift off my shoulders as eased into their arms, like a physical weight was lifted.

The pressure of racing and expectations was gone because I had my two kiddies with me now. They're safe and in my arms and I can breathe again.

"Are you going to introduce us?" Theo questioned softening his grip on us. I looked up to see his eyes fixed on Max.
