DESTINY

The car ride to the wedding planner was silent, a bit too quiet for my liking. I stole a glance at Khalil, who remained fixated on the road. As we came to a stop, he maneuvered the corner with one hand on the wheel. I had to subtly shift in my seat, something about a man confidently handling the wheel sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach.

Khalil's free hand found its way to my thigh, and he cast a sly glance in my direction, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. I stared playing tug of war with my fingers to calm my nerves "Stop fidgeting in your seat; it's distracting me," he finally broke the silence.

I murmured an apology and turned my gaze out of the window, gently closing my eyes for a moment. "Don't fall asleep now; we're here," a voice chimed in.

I heard the car door open and close on the driver's side, followed by a swift opening on my side. I unbuckled my seatbelt, and Khalil offered his hand, which I gladly accepted "oh, and Bambina just warning you ahead of time our wedding planner is a bit of a...character" before I could ask what that meant. We found ourselves standing in front of a beautiful, modern house, a stark departure from Khalil's lavish residence, but undeniably classy.

Its clean lines and abundant glass gave it a sleek, contemporary feel, though the overall design felt somewhat impersonal, lacking the warmth and coziness I associated with the concept of "home."

He walked to the door and rung the bell
We barely had to wait two seconds before it came flying open. And a pretty middle-aged woman with blue eyes and blonde hair smiled at us .

"Oh my goodness, you guys kept me waiting" she spoke.

She brought Khalil in for a hug and wrapped her arms around his body squeezing him as if old friends.
When she released her grip on Khalil , she finally acknowledge my presence

"Oh..my" she took in my face and gasped she glanced over at Khalil then back at me.

"You must be the wife to be your absolutely beautiful and your skin I take it the sun has been treating you well"

She giggled and hugged me, squeezing the life out of me I looked over at Khalil, and he was shaking his head and giving me the I told you so look.

"Please, come in," she beckoned. The interior of the house wasn't too different from the outside. It maintained its boxy structure with a hint of color here and there. I hoped our wedding wouldn't be this boring.

The wedding planner led us to a room, presumably her office. Stepping in, I was taken aback by the colors and patterns all around—hectic yet beautiful, completely different from the rest of the house. "Come, take a seat." We both sat opposite her.

"Now let's get down to business. Oh, my bad, I didn't even introduce myself. My name is Clara. I don't like formalities, like ma'am; they make me feel old. I'm incredibly excited to have the ability to make my nephew's dream wedding come true." So, this was his aunt, interesting, I thought to myself.
