Destiny's POV

Guests started to arrive, and I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me at the thought of meeting the rest of his family. But what truly terrified me was seeing his father again. That man was a racist, always so comfortable bad-mouthing others. Knowing what he did to Khalil enraged me—he was the root cause of all Khalil's pain.

I was already irritated, and the party hadn't even started yet. Then there was another ring at the door, and my crew of baddies came strolling in.

"Bitttchhhhh!" KK squealed.

"Baby girl, I missed you!" I ran up to both her and Malika.

"Damn, you both look like baddies," I said, spinning Malika around. "I put on a lil something something" she giggled. KK was about to throw it back, but then I realized the situation we were in and quickly understood that wasn't a good idea.

I whispered sharply, "You guys cannot be acting up."

"I'm so, so sorry, girl. This place is insane. You really hit the big one with this guy," KK said.

Just then, I felt a hand on the back of my neck. I didn't even need to look up to know who it was; his belt buckle pressed against my back.

"Hello, you must be my fiancée's friends. It's lovely to meet both of you," Khalil spoke with his deep, groggy voice.

"Damn, rich, classy, handsome, tall, and a gentleman—where are they hiding all these men?" KK blurted out, a bit too loudly.

Khalil let out a deep throat laugh, and I couldn't help but look up at him. My legs started to feel weak as he stared at me knowingly, a stupid smirk plastered on his face.

"I didn't come down here just to see a bunch of PDA. Get a room or something," a distant voice spoke with distaste.

I turned and saw Elijah and Carlos. Elijah looked me up and down, his eyes practically undressing me. It made me feel naked and uncomfortably exposed. My besties stood behind us.

Carlos and KK locked eyes, and there was something unspoken between them,  because she couldn't stop smiling while staring at him.

"My love, I need you to meet some people," Khalil whispered in my ear.

I gave a slight nod. Carlos stayed behind while Elijah followed us, his eyes boring into me.

"Hi, you must be the woman who's stolen my cousin's heart. And I can definitely see why—you're stunning," said a man approaching us.

"Hi, it's lovely to meet you—"

"Enzo. Enzo King," he introduced himself.

I shook his hand. Standing beside him was a woman, perhaps in her early Twenties , with blonde curly hair and the most gorgeous gray eyes. But I couldn't help but notice the fear in her eyes.
