" Sometimes you don't realize how deeply you loved someone, till you watch someone else try and feel the same about them." ~ Unknown

Katsuki stands in front of his locker at the hero agency after putting on the last of his hero suit. It's been a long time since he's worn it but after a few adjustments it fits like a glove once again to a perfectly built form.

He glances into the small mirror hanging in his locker. Turning his face to the side, crimson eyes falling to the scars on the side of a strong profile. There's a deep sigh as he runs his fingers over the badly damaged skin. It looks better than he use to, but he knows the remnants of the war will always remain there, a constant reminder of the battle that had succeeded in taking his life for a short while until he was brought back by two heros who refused to let him fall forever.

He hates the look of them, hates how they make him feel so damn self-conscious at times. It's better than it was at first but there's no doubt he still feels that uncomfortably at unease over them.

There's a voice in the locker room suddenly from somewhere behind him.

It's sheepish, and soft with just the slightest hit of a tremble in the tone, and enough to make a tough blonde hero ache to his core.

" It healed really well Kacchan."

Katsuki tenses, feeling a wave of several emotions at once. He doesn't turn around at first, doesn't even move and for a moment Izuku wonders if he heard him speak at all. Finally he takes a deep breath shutting his locker harshly as he turns around seeing green eyes that will always have his heart.

Funny thing about your heart. There are times in your life a certain event or person can make it feel like it's breaking and swelling with love in their very presence all at once. It's such a strange and somehow agonizing feeling, one the blonde has to clear his throat to push down.

He leans back against the lockers a fake cocky smirk forming as he shrugs with crossed arms.

" It's still there though. Still ugly as fuck too."

Izuku feels his heart ache and tears that he's fighting as he takes steps closer to Katsuki. The blonde hero has also had such a strong presence to him, even as kids Katsuki had strong, stand out personality that drew him in from the start at the age of four, it's no different now as he feels it hit him like waves.

What he doesn't realize though, what he never realized was that Katsuki had always felt the same way about him. Izuku was never as loud, brash or confident as he was, he was never as mouthy or forward but he stood out nonetheless. He was so gentle, so sweet, caring and as he got older he was ferice in his own way, all things Katsuki had been drawn to just as much.

There's a few beats of silence between them before Izuku gains enough courage to speak as he slowly lifts his hand towards the blonde's face.

" It's... it's not ugly though Kacchan. I .. I never thought so."

Before the greenett's trembling hand can reach its destination Katsuki turns his face, crimson eyes not looking into emerald ones. He shakes his head no making the greenett slowly retract his hand.

The blonde shifts his eyes to the ground while clearing his throat.

" Don't Deku. You don't wanna do that."

Tears well in emerald eyes. He can hear the tone, how defeated it sounds, how ashamed it still sounds over the scars he holds, and Katsuki has no idea just how much Izuku does want to do that. To touch his face, run his fingers over a still strong, handsome jawline, to feel the blonde hero under his fingertips once again in any and every way he can.
