Part 1 | Packing up

"Last night, she said

It turned me off when I feel left out"

"Look, I know it's tough, but the guys need this, Bella. We found a studio in LA called "Sage and Sound". It should be great and the guys are excited to make more music. It'll be fun Bells!"

That was Katie. She and Jamie are so in love, she will do everything for him. We had been back home in Sheffield since the Suck it and See tour had ended, but they wanted to go back to the US to work on their upcoming album.

I quickly jump into the shower after packing my stuff. I get into my denim jeans, put on a black graphic shirt and step into my pretty beat-up Doc Martens. They never got too small. Since it was still April it was cold, so I decided to pair it with my leather jacket.
I let my hair dry in the air while I was changing, not wanting to spend too much time on it. Then I pulled it into a ponytail.

"Katie, where are you?" I almost yelled at her over the phone.

We had agreed she and Jamie would be here to pick me up, as well as the rest of the band.

I hadn't given much thought to Alex. He had always seemed uninterested in me. Besides the fact I had known him for 6 whole years, spending a whole car ride with him, a flight and the way back to the hotel seemed impossible. He was so awkward to talk to and never engaged in the conversation, which isn't nice when I start talking unstoppable when I'm nervous.

"Bella, we're here in two minutes, stop being so impatient!"Katie laughed.

I couldn't help but laugh with her.

I was standing outside my house with my luggage. My suitcase was filled with random stickers I had collected throughout the years. Of course, I also got my purse. But as you do before a flight, I was stressed. What if I had forgotten something? The thoughts left my mind immediately as I saw Jamie and Katie's car pull onto my street.

"Hello hello," I greet them with a big smile, waving at the car.

"Hey! How are you doing?" Jamie asks as he steps out of the car.

I pull him in for a hug before he takes my suitcase. He went to the back of the car, opening the trunk which was already packed with a few suitcases.

"I'm doing great. Work has just been tough lately. I can't wait to spend some time with you guys," I say, right before running up to Katie who had gotten out of the car as well and hugging her tightly.

"Oh, I've missed you so much, babe!" I laugh, still hugging her.

I hadn't seen her in a long time, so this hug felt terrific. She was my best friend after all.

"Aw, I missed you more, Bella!" She laughs.

Right before pulling away from the hug, she mentions,

"Hey, we should get going. The others are waiting. J, Matt and Nick went to Alex's house so no need to stop at Nick or Matt's"
J was Katie's nickname for Jamie.

They had this adorable thing with calling each other by their first initial. So, K and J.

We were all in the car, on our way to Alex's house. Jamie and Katie were talking about something I couldn't quite put my finger on from the backseat.

"Let's turn on the radio, this is boring," I interrupt.

I opened my purse and held out a CD for us to play.
I really enjoyed music, so I always felt so lucky that my best friend managed to get together with a literal rockstar.
