The first thing I saw was the most beautiful tree I had ever seen in my life. It was covered in blossom and had a wooden swing big enough for 2 coming from the biggest of the branches.
"Surprise", he said, shutting the iron gate behind him.
"Wow... Tyler this is..." I was lost for words. It was hard to take in the sight all at once. I can't believe he would bring me to a place like this.
He slowly made his way to swing walking past about twenty rose bushes on his way.
"You don't have to say anything, just sit", he said, patting the seat next to him.
I make my way towards him, looking around me the entire time.
"Why did you bring me here?" I asked, still mesmerised by him.
"I don't know. I guess you're the first real friend that I have ever had. You could have just walked away the day we met, why didn't you?"
"I figured that seeing as I hadn't seen you around here before, I had a chance at being friends with you. I mean, everyone thought I was crazy anyway."
"Just be glad it was me then. If it was anyone like those jerks at school then you wouldn't be here right now", he said, smiling at me so that I couldn't help but smile back.
"You interest me Ali. You have asked me so many questions and not once have you talked about yourself. All the other girls I have met, just talked nonstop about themselves, I couldn't stand it. But you. You're different."
I couldn't help but blushing.
I don't know how long we sat there just talking and swinging but when I snapped out of my Tyler trance, the sky was getting dark.
Getting to me feet, I whispered that I should probably go. I know we were the only ones there but it was as thought the silence shouldn't be disturbed.
"Wait", he said, grabbing a hold of my arm. The next thing I knew, his lips were on mine. It was only a short kiss, but it was enough to shock me.
He slowly pulled away blushing. Before it was too late, I grabbed his hand and pulled him closer. He was quite tall so I had to stand on my tiptoes to reach his lips.
"I love you Ali. I know we've pretty much only just met and everything. But I feel as though it's enough."
After that, we walked back hand in hand, Caspar jogging along in front of us. I knew then what it felt like to be loved, wanted by someone. I never thought that it would have been Tyler.
