The Worst Day

The last few months had been the best, even with the exams, I got to relax when I was with Tyler.

I finally let him meet my family, well all apart from my Dad. He hasn't been so great in the past with boyfriends. Ever since my older sister, Carly, moved out to Australia and got married there, he has been overprotective. Always telling me to stay away from boys because they're dangerous. Mum says he just doesn't want me moving to Australia like Carly though.

Tyler was kind of awkward when he first stepped though the door, my Mum all over him welcoming him in, I guess he wasn't used to this sort of attention back at home.

Mum sometimes can be just as protective as Dad, so when I invited Sam upstairs to come and meet Tyler, she took it the wrong way and gave me that look that said, 'I'm watching you, don't try anything, I'm downstairs...'

Jason seemed pretty excited to meet him and had him wrapped in a bro hug within seconds.

When I finally had Tyler to myself, I pulled him onto my window seat, showing him the most affection that I could with my bedroom door open, my Mum and brother listening to my every word.

"I'm so sorry about my family. It must be a bit crazy seeing as yours is so relaxed", I whispered to him, knowing Jason wouldn't be very happy at me calling him crazy when he was just trying to be nice.

"It's okay, and anyway my family has its fair share of craziness', he replied, slowly pulling me closer.

I heard a car pulling up outside and rushed to my feet, pushing Tyler down the stairs.

"Ali, what the hell is going on?" he asked, stumbling down the last step.

I rushed to the door, it wasn't the best time to chat.

I fumbled with the door key for about a minute until I finally unlocked it. Opening the door, I saw my Dad, it was too late.

"Ali. How was your day?" he said, snuggling me up into a bear hug. I was soon released and moved out of his pathway.

"And who are you then?" he growled, pointing at Tyler.

"I'm Ali's boyfriend", he stuttered. My Dad moving closer by every second.

I was soon between them, pointing at the kitchen.

"You can go now, I was just seeing Tyler out."

He soon moved when he saw the angry look on my face.

"Fine, I'm going."

"I am so sorry about that, I guess he just doesn't want me moving on like my sister."

"It's fine, I was always wondering what it would be like to meet your Dad", he laughed nervously.

When he leaned in for a goodbye kiss, I pushed him away. Trust me I didn't want to but it seemed like the best option at the moment.

"I'm sorry, not while my Dad's here."

I turned around to go back inside when I saw Tyler, stop still, looking down the road.

The next thing I knew, he was lying on the floor, a puddle of blood where he hit the cold stone floor...
