Chapter 7 - the truth

Meycee's POV

"I think we better go,hindi pa kasi kumakain tong girlfriend ko.Do you mind?" nakangiting pahayag ni Gabrielle.

What the?! Girlfriend nya si Kate? For real?

Wow Gabrielle! Ang dali mo naman atang nakakita ng replacement. And of all the girls, si Kate pa talaga?

"pero ano kasi Gabby nagyayaya si Meycee.."  pangangatwiran ni Kate

"It's okay. Next time nalang tayo mag bond Kate..I'll go first. See you around." Pinutol ko ang kanyang sinasabi. Binigyan ko sila ng matamis na ngiti. Tumalikod ako at naglakad papalayo.

Binilisan ko ang paglalakad.

Tumulo ang aking mga luha.

 Why are they falling? Why can't I stop them? 

I wipe them away with my hands at nagmamadaling pumasok sa C.R

I immediately lock the door.

Nanlalambot parin ang aking mga tuhod.Tuluyan akong bumagsak at sumubsob sa aking mga braso.

Umiiyak ako. Binuhos ko lahat. I can't stop myself from crying but I know I need this. Kailangan kong  ilabas lahat ng hinanakit na nararamdaman ko from the moment nalaman ko ang masaklap na katotohanan.

*FLASHBACK*

"Hi babe! Yeah, I'm home. So, how was the party?"  I'm holding the phone on my right  while eating popcorn and watching An art of seduction in the living room. This one's cool. You better watch it. :)

 "Um,Hello babe? Still there?"  I asked. I can't hear his voice anymore.

Ding.Dong.Ding.Dong.Ding.Dong

May naglalaro na naman sa doorbell. Probably kids. Ah, I really hate them. tsk

Nagmadali akong tumayo para pagsabihan ang sinumang nasa labas to stop what he/she is doing. Nakakairita na kase.

I opened the door.

I'm surprised. Bumulagta ang anyo ng isang napakagwapong anghel. My boyfriend is here. :)

"Hey babe missed me?" he suddenly grabbed my waist and hugged me passionately.

"Uhm,yeah." I smiled and hugged him back.

May naamoy ako.Lumayo ako sa kanya at tinignan siyang mabuti. Searching for evidences.

"Did you drink?" I crossed my arms at raised one of my eyebrows.

"Yep,konti lang naman. Only two bottles of tequila"  he chuckled. Tuluyan siyang pumasok  sa loob at humiga sa couch.

"What's wrong with you Gabrielle?" Sinundan ko siya at tumigil sa harap niya.

"Oh nothing, nakakahiya naman kasing tanggihan ang mga teammates ko to drink. We placed first in the competition, we deserve to celebrate." Kinuha nya ang unan beside him at nilagay ito sa uluhan niya.

"Pero hindi mo naman kailangang magpakalasing. Now look at you, such a mess." I dictated.

 Magulo ang buhok niya at medyo basa ito. Open ang dalawang butones ng kanyang polo shirt and the laces of his shoes were not properly tied as well.

Tinignan ko siya mula ulo hanggang paa. You really are a mess....a beautiful mess.

Hinila niya ako bigla. I lost my balance kaya napasubsob ako sa katawan niya. 

Lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko.Nanginit ang buo kong katawan. I feel so weak.

Niyakap nya ako and kissed my forehead.

"I LOVE YOU" He hugged me tighter.

I smiled. Kinikilig ako. He said it sincerely,puno ng pagmamahal.

Nilapit niya ang kanyang bibig sa tenga ko.

"I LOVE YOU KATE"  he whispered.

"what?" I moved my head backward to see his face. Mali ba ang narinig ko? 

" I said I love you. Sh*t Kate di mo ba narinig?" Binitiwan niya ako. Tumayo siya papalayo sa akin. Umayos ako sa pagkakaupo.

"All this time pinipigilan ko ang sarili ko to say this to you!" he yelled. Pulang pula ang mukha niya.

Nagulat ako sa singhal niya but I didn't move. Hindi ko pa naaabsorb ang nangyayari. Nalilito pa rin ako. Anong pinagsasabi niya?

"Pero habang nagpipigil ako, mas lalo kitang minamahal." unti-unti siyang lumapit sa akin. Tears fell from his eyes. All I  see is pain.

"And what's worse? I can't even pursue you because I'm your fuck*n bestfriend!" 

"I'm afraid I'll lose you someday like all the girls I courted."Lumuhod siya sa harap ko at hinawakan ang magkabila kong braso.

"You like me right? Could you just tell me you love me? I promise to take all the responsibilities Kate. Just love me......p-please?"

*SLAP*

Sinampal ko siya. Nanginginig parin ang kamay ko. Di ko mapigilan ang sarili ko. Dumaloy ang mga luha sa aking pisngi. Lumaki ang mga mata niya. Parang natauhan sa ginawa ko.

"Babe,I'm sorry.Let me explain" He was about to hold my hand.

"Tell me Gabrielle........minahal mo ba talaga ako?" I asked him. Patuloy ang pagdaloy ng luha.I can't stop it.

"Babe,I'm....."He held my hand.

"Don't you dare touch me!" Lumayo ako sa kanya.Mas lalong lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko.Hindi na ako makahinga ng mabuti.

"Meycee I'm sorry. Hindi ko na nagawang kontrolin ang sarili ko."

"Get lost" 

"Meycee" aakmang lalapit siya sa akin.

" I said get lost!" buong pwersa kong sigaw.

Napaupo siya.Ginulo niya ang kanyang buhok at nilagay ang dalawang malalaking kamay sa kanyang mukha.

Silence ruled.

Nobody dared to move.

Ilang minuto narin ang nakalipas pero nasa ganitong posisyon parin kami.

I hate what I feel at this very moment. The pain is killing me.

I felt so betrayed.......rejected.

Of all the people in this world, I didn't expect na sa kanya ko mararanasan to.

 He made me feel that even the world collapse,as long as im holding unto him,I'll be safe. I even imagine my life 20 years in the future with him. We'll get old together and have a wonderful family.

But everything's different now. The reality is I'm not his princess and never will. I'm his trash and he's throwing me now. Napakasakit. Anong kulang sa akin? Do I have to be sexier? Do I have change the way I dress? Do I have to be smarter? Richer? Tell me what's  wrong with me!

Pumikit ako at tinagal ang bahid ng mga luha sa aking mukha.

May narinig akong footsteps mula sa kitchen.Lumabas ang isa sa aming mga maids.

"Ms. Meycee nakarinig po ako ng sigaw.Ano po ang..." nahinto siya ng makita kami.Gulat na gulat siya sa eksanang kanyang nadatnan.

"Get him out of here"

Dali-daling lumapit ang maid kay Gabrielle at tinulungan itong makatayo.Wala parin si Gabrielle sa kanyang sarili.I'm sure hilong-hilo na siya at wala siyang maaalala sa kahit na anong nangyari ngayon. He drank two bottles of tequila. That's probably a total of 80% alcohol content.

Pinagmasdan ko lang sila papalabas.

Kinuha ko ang cellphone  at nag dial.

"Hello? nasa labas ng bahay si Gabrielle. Make sure he'll arrive home safe."

I looked at my phone.

I saw our faces. We looked so happy and perfect in this picture.
