The three of them left, but little did they know that drama was about to begin.
The bass was booming through the hallways, it almost felt like there was an earthquake. Dirk, Jane, and Roxy were all standing and talking about who knows what when Dirk noticed the brunette british boy make his way into the school, waving back at his ride.
He was wearing almost what Dirk was wearing accept he had dress pants instead of jeans, a bow tie instead of a normaltie, and a light green dress shirt instead of an orange one. But one this stood out mist of all: He wasn't wearing his glasses. Must be wearing contacts or something.
Roxy wispered to Jane, giggled, and the two went off. "We're going back inside to dance a bit, okay?" Roxy winked and the two were gone. It's like she knew that he wanted to be alone with him, which thank god she left (not in a 'you're annoying thank god you're gone' kind of way). Or he wouldn't have gotten to get to talk to Jake.
Now or never, right? "Hey, Jake." He waved to the boy. Jake looked at him. "Oh, hey Dirk." He went over to him. "How are you?" He asked. " I'm okay." Dirk replied.
The two got so lost in conversation, Dirk forgot what he was going to do. Until it hit him. He intrupted Jake, but not on purpose. Dirk was just so excited. "H-hey Jake, I really need to tell you something-" He was interrupted by the football boys running in and being loud.
The group consisted of Rufioh, who was probably the only person in the group who wasn't a total asshole. Horrus, who was strong when he was angry and weak when he was hurt or upset. And... Cronus? 'What the hell are you doing here?!' Dirk thought.
Cronus had his arm wrapped around Kankris shoulder, but he didn't look very comfortable. Cronus tried to kiss him, but Kankri turned his head away and pushed his off. "Cronus, please be respectful of my personal space. I do not wish for your arm to be drapped over me like I'm some type of towel rack." He barely heard him. It was good Kankri was standing for himself, but he knew Cronus was going to get that kiss, and forcfully. Cronus took Kankris wrists and pulled him into a kiss. None of the others said or did anything.
Dirk wasn't going to have this. He stood up, and stormed over to Cronus. "Dirk, wait!" Jake called to him. But Dirk ignored. He stepped infront of Kankri and glared at Cronus. "I don't think Kankri was enjoying that very much, what about you?." Cronus glared back. "VWhat I think, is for you to mind your ovwn god damn business." He was going to punched him, but Kankri spoke up. "Cronus, stop..." He coward saftly behind Dirk. " Don't hurt him, please." Cronus clutched his fists before putting them down.
Dirk walked off, Kankri still behind him. He didn't mind, though. Kankri needed to be safe. Jake was leaning against the wall. "Umm... Dirk? Behind you..." Dirk turned around and saw Cronus and his crew of two walking their way.
"Avww, is this the Jake boy you vwere tellin' me about the other day? He sure is a cutie." Jake looked uncomfortable being put on the spot. "Hey, leave him alone would you?" Dirk stepped infront of Jake. "VWhy should I?" Cronus pulled Dirk up by the front of his shirt, one of his feet touching the ground. He knew his reason why, but it would sound stupid. So Dirk pushed Cronus away and went inbetween Kankri and Jake.
"Little Baby Strider afraid to stand up? Hmm, thought so. You knovw Strider, you're truly pathetic." Dirk looked down at the ground, knowing these things were true. "You can't ewven stand up to someone your ovwn size! C'mon, Dick, hit me or somethin." Cronus looked at Dirk, who was trying his best to not run up to and punch Cronus to a bloody, bruised pulp like he did to him the other day. "Nothin'? Tch, Vwimp..."
"I'm not going to hit you, because that's showing true weakness..." He told Cronus. "You hitting me the other day was a very weak move. Your fists are strong, but you, yourself, are not." Cronus scoffed. "Don't giwve me that insperational bullshit. These losers might take it, but not me."
Dirk decided it was about time to end this. "Go ahead, hit me. Punch me. I don't care." Dirk stepped up. "Dirk, no!" Jake pulled him back. "You're going to far. Let's just go..." Cronus pulls Kankri. "Good choice." Kankri pushed him away. " Sorry, Cronus. But I'm not going anywhere with you" Kankri turned and walked away. He saw a small group of friends, consisting of Latula, Mituna, and Porrim. " Yo Kankz! C'mere!!" Latula called. He smiled and walked over. Cronus growled and walked away, Rufioh and Horrus not following. They walked into the gym, holding hands and smiling to each other.Jake and Dirk walked over to where they were before everything had started with Cronus. "So Strider. Before that whole issue started with Ampora, what did you-?" He got introrupted by looking at Dirk, seeing that he was crying. " Dirk..?" Jake stared worridly at at him. "E-everything Cronus said about me... about being pathetic or that I can't stand up to people my own size... it's all true... it always has been true... and it always will be.." Dirk hid his face in his hands to hide his tear covered face. "Dirk, that's not true." Jake told him sternly. " I may have only know you for four days, but that doesn't mean I don't know about you. You are not pathetic, and you stood up to Cronus the other day-" Dirk interrupted. " Before he gave me a black eye and bloody noes."
"...Yes, that is true. But the other reason Cronus say those things about you is because he feels anger or sadness about something in his life. People like Cronus do that. They feed off of others pain due because of their own." Jake explained. " That person feels upset or angry, so they choose someone to pick on so that they feel strong, and their target feels as weak as the due."
Dirk smiled at Jake's words. " So back to what I was saying before, you-" He was interrupted by Dirks lips on his own. Jake was startled, not knowing what to do. But soon enough, he relaxed and wrapped his arms around Dirks shoulders. Now that he thought about it, Jake had always been getting butterflies-in-my-stomach feelings whenever he saw Dirk and spoke to him. He had loved Dirk this whole time and Jake hadn't realized until now? God, he was so stupid. Dirk pulled after a bit and smiled at Jake, a blush formed across his face.
" If it wasn't obvious by the kiss, what I was trying to say earlier was that... Jake English, I love you. I love everything about you. You're beautiful green eyes, that smile that makes me forget about everything around, the freckles that dot your cheeks. I could really good on forever, but then we'd probably be here until the dance was over." Jake's eyes were wide and full of tears of joy. "i-I..." He stuttered, not knowing what to say other than a simple ' I love you, too'. "I-I, love you, too, Dirk Strider. I say, your kind words left me dumbfounded." He laughed, his happy tears streaking down his cheeks. Dirk smiled and gave him another soft kiss before hearing the door open and Jane and Roxy stepping out. They blushed.
Roxy and Jane smiled at each other. " You two wuz kizzin ** lol, kissing." Jane smiled at them and Dirk and Jake smiled back. Dirk and Jake looked back at each other, they hugged.
Dirk was so happy. After a few days of knowing someone, you fall in love? That thought amazed him how love is so strong. And he couldn't wait for what the future held for them.
{The End}
