Alaina was treating Mary Ruzek, unaware that she was going to meet someone who was going to change her life forever in a good but also unexpected way and possibly fall in love with him. A young man about 20 years old runs into the ED, completely Frazzled and panicked.
He said," Excuse me, my aunt Mary and Uncle Max were brought here. I was wondering if someone could give any update on how they are doing, I'm really worried about them.
Maggie said," Can you please tell me your name,your relation to themand I'll let her doctor know you are here.
He said," My name is Adam Ruzek, and I'm her nephew, and thank you so much for telling her.
Maggie said," You're welcome, Honey. Sit tight, and I'll get her doctor for you. He sits down.
Maggie knocked on the door and Alaina stepped out, and Maggie said," A Adam Ruzek is here to ask about his aunt and uncle. He looks really worried about them.
Alaina said," Okay. I'll talk to him, Maggie. Thank you for letting me know. Bye, mags.
Maggie said," See you later, girlie. Stay safe.
Alaina said," I will. See you later, Maggie.
Alaina then headed to a young man about 20 years old and was pacing around the waiting room with Brown Hair and light brown eyes filled with fear for his family. She thought he was handsome but didn't say it out loud because it's unprofessional.
Alaina gently tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned around to see the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life with her dark hair in a high ponytail and her beautiful brown eyes staring at him.
Adam said," H-Hello, I'm Adam Ruzek. How are my aunt Mary and Uncle Max doing?
Alaina said," My name is Dr. Atwater, and I have been treating your Aunt Mary, and she is doing okay. I think she suffered a heart attack. Dr. Halstead is treating your uncle, and there he is, walking over to us now.
Will Halstead walked over to them and stopped beside Alaina Atwater and said," Your uncle Max is doing great. He has a cast on his arm, but otherwise, He is doing very well.
Adam said," How did she get a heart attack? I see her and my mom all the time. I don't understand what happened to her. I saw her yesterday and she said that she was fine.
Alaina said," We are running tests to determine what caused the heart attack. I'll let you know when you can come see her.
Adam said," Okay, thank you. Can I please see my uncle Max and check up on him?
Will said," Of course you can. I'll take you to him. Hey, April, please check on Ms. Ruzek.
April said," Of course, Dr. Halstead. Be right back. Have a great day, Dr. Halstead. Be safe.
Will said," Thank you, April and Okay. Bye.
April walked away, and Will took Adam to see his uncle Max, and he immediately hugged his uncle Max and sat in the chair near his bed and asked," What happened?
Max said," I was on the roof, trying to fix the Chimney when I lost my balance and fell.
Adam said," Please be more careful, okay?
Max said," Of course, Adam. I love you. Stay safe at the police academy, Adam. Promise?
Adam said," Of course, Uncle Max. I love you too. I hope everything is okay with Aunt
Mary, and then it's nothing serious, uncle.
Max said," Me too, Adam. Me too. I love her.
Alaina knocked on the door, and then Adam said," You can come in. The doors are open.
Both Alaina Atwater and Will Halstead enter the door.
Alaina said," First of all, she did not have a heart attack. Second, congratulations, your wife is pregnant with Sextuplets, Mr. Ruzek. You're going to be a dad in nine months. She's about a month along, so congrats.
Max started cheering, and Adam hugged his uncle, excited to become a cousin to them.
Adam said," Thank you, Dr. Atwater. I appreciate you taking care of my aunt Mary. Dr. Halstead, Thank you for taking care of my uncle Max. I appreciate it very much.
Alaina said," You're welcome. Have a good day.
Will said," You're welcome. Have a good day.
Nurses April Sexton and Maggie Lockwood enter the room with discharge papers for Adam to sign, and he does and takes them home to his house.
Will heads home with his older brother Jay, who starts fussing over him, and they head to bed, Jay stays with Will in his bedroom, worried about how Will is handling his injuries and also keep any eye on him.
Alaina heads home with her older brother Kevin, who starts fussing over her, and they head to bed, Kevin leaving her door open, worried about how she is doing.
