Jameson hawthorne wasn't one to turn down a game. So when i offered to pull out the two year old dust covered monopoly sitting in our expansive games cupboard and he had refused. I was immediately suspicious.

He kept staring at me in a way that was unexplainable.  But we were solely friends. Conflicting feelings were things to put in my mental to-do list.

He jumped up and headed for the double doors.

"Hey Jamie." I said before he could leave.

He instantly turned around.

"Please." I smiled and pouted.

He rolled his eyes and reluctantly gave in, but I could still see the doubt lingering behind his facade. He sat down on the red velvet couch opposite to the matching set couch i was sitting on.

I pulled the board out of the box and dusted off all the pieces. He continued to stare at me intently. I could feel his eyes on me with every little thing that I did. I decided to break the tension.

"Do you want to be that hat or the boat?" Referring to the monopoly pieces.

"What?" He seemed to snap out of his trance, and his eyes traced my body and hands, the attention made me blush.

"I'm just...looking at you. Your beautiful." He winked teasingly. Teasing was something he was actually good at.

"Stop. I know it's not that." Though contrary to my words my cheeks still stained with warmth and a traitourous smile crossed my face.

"Okay." Jameson agreed and shook his head and his agreement with the statement, kind of stung a bit.

We continued our game in calculated silence and that was until Jameson cut the thick tension.

"Heiress. You seem to be in some deep thought thats troubling you. Tell me."

"Your not my therapist." I laughed.

"Do you think  you need one?" Jameson all too seriously looked concerned.

"No! I'm just- this is so silly." I felt my cheeks warm at this very thought that was intruding my mind.

"What." He almost seemed hopeful, he sat up, his dark curls bouncing near his green ambitious eyes, god he looked- really good.

"I'm just- oh forget it!" My confidence stunbling from its high

He cupped my chin with his hand. His eyes bore into mine. The single touch of metaphysical and physical affection sent my senses overboard.

"If this is what I think it is. Then give me a sign, because I want this. I need this."

My breath caught in my throat and I almost forgot to blink.

"If this is what I think it is. Then I think we need to switch games." I said my face a couple inches fron his.

"Interesting proposition, my heiress."

"I try." I smiled.

"Game on Heiress. Game on."
