They meet up a few years later for the top gun mission.... Katherine's no longer the same...

"Guys I can manage to walk just fine." Kat laughs as everyone kept trying to help her leave the hospital. Nothing was wrong with her legs just her ribs yet Bradley, her dad, and Phoenix kept hovering as if she was going to topple over at any second.
"Don't want to risk it." Bradley says before swooping her legs out from under her. Kat rolls her eyes but truthfully she rather enjoyed being in his arms again.
"And to make things better I'm taking you to your favorite restaurant." Maverick says while opening the back car door for Rooster to put Kat inside the back of Phoenix's suv.
"Vincenzo's?" Kat asks excitedly as her father nods hopping in the passenger seat as Rooster rounds to be in the backseat by Kay.
"Yup I even convinced Vinny to give you some free deserts." Maverick gloats and the girl smiles softly patting shoulder from the back seat. "Thanks dad." She says with gratitude making him smile.
Hearing her call him dad again was amazing he hadn't heard it in years. Well except for right before her plane crashed but besides that she either didn't speak to him or called him Maverick.
"Remember when you snorted a noodle out of your nose?" Phoenix laughs at the memory as Bradley immediately laughs loudly as well.
"I couldn't help it! You saw Hangman accidentally get that tray of drinks spilled on him from the waitress what was I supposed to do? Not laugh?" She asks rhetorically also laughing at the memory.
Bradley rests a hand on Katherine's knee and she can't help but blush smiling at him shyly.
It felt weird. But nice.
As they pull up to the restaurant all the guys from the top gun mission are waiting outside. As they spot the approaching vehicle Hangman smacks the guys who all look and cheer.
"What are they doing here?" Maverick asks and everyone seems confused as they climb out and look at the group before their eyes all land on an awkward bob. "Really Bob?" Phoenix tsks making him hold his hands up in mock surrender.
"I tried leaving discreetly but Hangman saw the pres-" Bob goes to say before Phoenix steps on his foot to shut him up.
"And then I got the rest of the boys together. Especially if old man here's paying." Hangman teases Maverick who rolls his eyes. What could he do now that they were already here?
The large group goes into the restaurant and almost immediately Vinny approaches one of his all time favorite customers.
"KAT!" He says excitedly with his heavy Italian accent as he hugs the girl who winced but smiled broadly. "How is my favorite customer?" He asks as hangman does a slight offended noise. "Vinny I was here a week ago what about me?" He asks getting a blank look before getting ignored entirely.
