Leave a Light On - Tom Walker

Ranboo's POV

I laid in bed, a deep rooted feeling of panic in my gut. I couldn't figure out what it was but I couldn't mask it either.

Everyone visiting were in their hotel rooms. Asterin and Asher went back home for a day or so to repack clothes and to be at their house.

And I really needed to clear this fucking feeling and my head. I sighed, sitting up and walking downstairs. I plucked my keys from the key holder by the door and slipped on a pair of slides. I walked to my car with a yawn and just drove around the block some.

Incoming call from My Star Girl <3...

I answered the call, leaving it connected to the car, "Hey, everything okay?"

The only response I got was a choked out sob. I immediately disconnected it from the speakers and put the phone to my ear.

"Asterin, Asterin. What's going on? Are you okay?"

"I need h-help." She sobbed.

"Okay, okay. Take a breath for me. What's going on?" I panicked, already instinctively driving the route to her house in San Jose.

"I-I. I can't b-reathe." She managed between sobs and choked breathing.

"Okay, Star. In and out with me, okay? In for four. Hold it. Now out for eight. In, hold, out. Okay?" I said, pausing between each word. We breathed together and i could hear the shakiness in her voice and breath.

"I- Please do-n't be mad." She sobbed.

"Never, never. What's going on?"

"I tried- I tri-ed to get high. I h-had a panic attack and now i can't- breathe." She said, trying to take deep breaths but being cut off with a sob everytime.

"It's okay. I promise you it's okay." I said, speeding down the highway.

"I need you." She sobbed, making my heart break.

"I know, Star. I'm on my way, okay? Are you at the park?"

"Mhm. The one-one next to my house." She breathed out.

"Okay, stay on the phone with me okay? I'll be there soon."

"It hurts." She sobbed again. I just let her cry the entire way there. She just sobbed and broke Nd It broke my heart.

Once I pulled up to the park, i perked the car and ran out. She was sitting under a tree, holding the phone to her chest as tears streamed down her face.

"Star, hey. I'm here, I have you." I said, kneeling next to her. She dropped her phone as she threw herself into my arms. She grabbed onto whatever she could of me as her body shook.

I gripped onto her back, grabbing her phone iff of the vround and standing uo while holding her. I walked us to the car and shut my dokr before getting into the back seat.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked after sitting with her and helping her calm down for half an hour. Ny back was pressed against the door and she was curled in a ball between my legs.

"I kept panicking when taking my pain pills for the accident. I needed the panic to stop and the only way I know how to do that is with weed. I came here to smoke and had one of the worst panic attacks ive had in a long time." She whispered, playing with the anxiety ring I kept on my finger for her.

"Maybe we shoukd start getting clean again?" I suggested. I didn't want to oush the issue, but honestly i think she was coming to that idea herself already.

"Yeah. I need help though." She whispered, "I don't have the same support I did last time."

"You're right, because you have more, Star. It's not just your uncle Izzy and Caroline. You have me, Tommy, Techno, Sap, Will, and so many other people. You have more support and people in your corner now than you did all those years ago."

"I pushed you all away."

"But were all still here. It's not gonna be easy but you know that. You've always been one to accept a challenge and win, why is this any different?"

"You're right and wrong at the same time." She said with a small laugh.

"I know, love. Why don't we stay at mine tonight. I'll leave a note for my dad and you can text Asher on the way there."

She nodded and we just laid there for a little bit. I let her calm down more before we moved to the front seats and sat in silence. Halfway through the drive, she laid her head on my shoulder and fell asleep. I smiled down at her and was glad to have her back, even if just as a friend.

She's everything. I don't care how I have her as long as I do.

We walked into my house quietly and walked to my room. I shut the door and turned on my lights seeing Ezra in my bed.

"Yes?" I asked, looking at him as if he was crazy.

"She left me again." He whispered. His eyes had bags underneath them and they were red.

"Sucks, doesnt it?" I asked, having no sympathy for the man who screamed and mocked me a few months ago after his ex girlfriend decided she didnt wanna be without him anymore just to leave him again.

"I'm sorry, okay! I didn't mean it!" He cried.

"Make a bed on the floor." Asterin spoke up, rubbing her eyes with a yawn. "I'm too tired to deal with you and i'd like to fall asleep next to the love of my life so budge off the bed."

"Alright." He said, grabbing his pillow and blanket he brought in here and laying it on the floor.

"Grab a blanket from the box in the closet. I keep them in here for sophie when she's sick or can't sleep in the bed because she doesn't wanna wake me." I said, nodding to the closet.

"Xavier." I heard a small voice call from behind me. "I had another nightmare." Sophie whispered.

"Here, we can have a sleepover." Asterin said softly, walking the short distance to her and picking her up. Asterin carried her to the bed and laid her down. "I had a nightmare too, so Xavier picked me up. Now we can kick the boys to the floor."

"Okay." She said, rubbing her eyes and getting under the covers with Asterin. Sophie laid on her, trying to calm her breathing.

"Ezra grab me some blankets." I laughed. He smiled and threw them at me. I laid them on the floor and Asterin handed me a pillow, replacing it with Sophie's.

"Do you like snuggles?" I heard Sophie ask, holding up her ripped up bunny.

"I love snuggles. I have one of my own at home actually. His name is moon."

"Moon is a planet name." Sophie giggled.

"My uncle always told me i'd find someone who would light me up. At the time I always thought of the moon because he called me star. I always thought i'd find my moon and then guess what?"

"What?" Sophie asked, a small yawn esxaping her.

"I met him." Asterin whispered.

"Is it Xavier?" Sophie mumbled.

"Yeah, it is." She whispered softly. "It always has been and always will be. You'll find that someday, too."

"I hope so." Sophie whispered before all that was heard from her was gentle snores that could pass as breathing.

"I was wrong. I was trying to protect my family and all I did was hurt everyone. Im sorry." Ezra whispered.

"You're only forgiven because I have her back." I whispered, turning to face my pc and going to sleep.
