Before I met You

chapter eleven

Nathan clutched his tray and made his way towards the table where Elaine was sitting. " hey" he said Elaine looked up from her phone and looked at him. She gave him a small smile and replied " hey"  " how was your day?" He asked her. Elaine raised her eyebrows wondering when this type of greeting started but Nathan just shrugged. Elaine let it slide and replied " it was fine " she simply said. She never wanted to reveal so much to him. She always had this feeling that he could see through her so she limited her words around him to prevent herself from saying anything that revealed herself. She always felt oddly comfortable around him and she hated that. He was just different because no one not even inquisitive Matilda had ever made her feel so exposed. " so about choosing the category we are choosing decorations " she said. He groaned. " Why are you clinging to that?" " Well honestly speaking it's the only category am confident I can manage" Elaine shyly replied her cheeks turning red from embarrassment. Nathan saw this and thought she looked cute when she blushed. Before he said anything dense , he grabbed the pamphlet with the various categories and perused through to see what they can do. Nathan groaned again.

Nothing on that pamphlet made sense. How can cleaning even be a category. The only sensible category on that thing was decorations and baking and they were all tiring. " fine let's go with decorations" Nathan  grumpily said with a frown on his face. Elaine laughed at his expression. " it's not that bad " she said with a chuckle. " I don't want to spend my free time doing girlish activities. We boys don't decorate" he said. " Only you honestly " Elaine said. " and what makes you say that?" Nathan asked raising his eyebrows. " Last time I checked I was the boy not you"Nathan said straightening up in his sit as he put a piece of bacon in his mouth. " Your the boy here I accept but your least informed about your gender than me" Elaine replied with a smirk taking a sip from her glass of juice. " Oh dear miss smarty pants happens to be so informed about the male gender than the males themselves" Nathan shot back. " No no dear that's not what I meant" Elaine said her eyes shining with utmost innocence and that made Nathan's stomach to perform some flips.She got her glass and put it on her lips like she taking a sip and innocently blinked her eyes at Nathan " I just meant that the real males are informed but some of them " she directly looked at Nathan. " don't know a thing " she concluded placing her glass back at the table . A smirk making it's way on her face.

Nathan looked at her dumbfounded. She just said he's not a real male.' What was wrong with this girl? ' Nathan asked himself. She just had some type of guts he never seemed to get. Not only didn't her mere presence intrigue him and now she has the audacity to talk to him like that. Hell yeah she didn't just talk to him. She just dissed him.

He had never to be clear never sat with a girl willingly on the same table . Even then he's crew would still be around. He wouldn't even talk to them .the girls would do all the talking actually flirting and all he would have was a blank expression on his face. He was quite used to it. Here it was non other than Carla. Now he's here talking infact spending time with miss smarty pants here and she was dissing him?! Nathan couldn't believe it . ' Does she even realize how lucky she is to have me here with her on the same table and have me talking to her?' Nathan asked himself

How dare she hurt his male pride like that? Nathan still couldn't believe there would be a person let alone a girl with such audacity. 'real men'?  He is a real man. I mean he's got the looks , body , smile hell yeah his background alone screamed real man. But here she was downgrading him.
Nathan smirked . If that's how she's going to do it. Then someone is in for some little play.

Nathan thoughts were disrupted by a loud bang on the table causing some juice to spill from Nathan's glass and the plates to vibrate. Nathan looked at  Elaine only to see her with the same shocked expression that he believed he had on his face. Looking up to see the cause of the bang. It was no one other than Carla herself with her minions right behind her.

Nathan's shocked expression turned blank and cold immediately. The soft eyes he had while talking to Elaine turned into a glare so fast you couldn't think he had a different expression on his face a while ago. " what?" He coldly asked. " what ? Is that what you ask me Nathan we were supposed to have lunch together. We always do when am around but here you are hanging out with this good for nothing bitch" Carla said fuming. Elaine could swear she saw smoke coming out of her eyes. Carla's face face was already tomato red from anger like what could be impossible.

Nathan got up his height and broad frame towering over Carla's tall but not tall enough frame. Carla gulped and took a step back. She had never seen Nathan that angry before. The whole cafeteria looked on clearly not the only ones the loud bang had an effect on. " Rant your dirty mouth all you want but let me make this clear...never I repeat never utter anything mean to Ella or even think about laying a finger on her cause if you do. You'll surely regret it" Nathan icily said . Before Elaine could register what's going on a sudden grip on her hand had her pulled out of the cafeteria.

Carla looked on. Scared would be an understatement. She was beyond scared because she knew Nathan meant every word that he said. She knew how powerful he was . His whole family was beyond powerful. They could make her life miserable with just a snap of a finger.  A shiver went through her body just thinking about he was capable of. She looked at him disappear from her view with Elaine in his hard. Anger rising making it's way up her body. She had worked so hard to try getting Nathan's attention for years but all in vain. Then her, she wasn't even as beautiful as Carla but she managed to wrap Nathan around her finger in just weeks. She is the reason Nathan has embarrassed her Infront of everyone. She angrily turned around and stormed out of the cafeteria.

Before Elaine could collect herself properly. Nathan loosened his grip on her wrist though not letting go of her. He had brought her to the gardens . " Nathan what was that all about?" Elaine carefully asked sensing his moods were not in order. Nathan didn't immediately reply her. He heavily sighed and passed his hands through his neck length silk raven hair. It looked soft. Elaine got a bit jealous . How can a boy have such soft hair . Her hair on the other hand was rough. Elaine observed Nathan as he again passed his hand though his hair. An action he had done over five times since he brought her to the gardens and that wasn't even ten minutes ago .

Elaine found herself staring at him longer than she's supposed to because of how attractive he looked while doing so. Considering the fact that his eyes were closed and he was also taking deep heavy breaths to calm himself down but terribly failing didn't make anything easier for Elaine. She admired how his chest heaved up and down outlining his muscle movement. Elaine looked away her face turning scarlett ashamed of her line of thought.

Elaine didn't even realize Nathan had tried controlling himself and was looking at her. " you look cute when you blush" his deep husky voice echoing in her ears. This made her blush the more. He nudged her using her wrist that he was still holding up to now making her look at him making her brown eyes to get lost in black eyes.  Her heart started beating rapidly. She didn't even know why.  " Walk with me? " He said it more like a question than a statement. Before she could control her actions. She nodded her head in affirmation. She couldn't let out any words . It's like he had hypnotized her. He removed his hand from her wrist and gently held her hand now. He's gaze ever soft and his touch careful not to hurt her. They started walking and that's when she realized he was leading her to the secret garden making her internally excited. Oh how she wanted to visit that place again.
