In my truck on the way to the bonfire and I can't help but think of the last time I made this drive just a few weeks ago, when I picked up Alayna. We have seen each other a few times since then but neither of us brought it up.

She's in the middle seat beside me and I can smell her coconut scent and her lips are shiny with lip gloss. I'm trying to focus on anything except how good she smells and how good she looks. I'm losing the battle and I need to hurry up and get there so I can put some distance between us. I sit up straighter trying to hide my desire for her that's pitching a tent in my shorts. I hope that neither of them notices because I'm not sure how I'd explain that one.

Luckily, it calms down by the time we get there. We get out of the truck and I make sure the tent is in the back just in case we end up needing it. I plan on celebrating with a few drinks from the keg that one of the other seniors scored for tonight and driving will be out of the question.

The end of the season party is tradition and the parents know what goes on during the party. If we need a ride, I'll call my dad and he will give me and anyone else that needs one, a ride home.

I already see some tents up as we walk closer to where the fire is. There are a group of guys that have a beer pong table set up by their tent. One of them eyes Alayna. She must notice him too because she smiles and does a little wave. I shoot him a glare and he turns his attention back to beer pong. Wise choice.

I look up and see Taylor running toward us with a huge smile on her face. She hugs Alayna and they laugh at her excitement. "I'm so glad you're finally here! There are so many cute guys here and I need my side kick!" She says to Alayna and I swear I see her look at me from the corner of her eye. Hmmm. Alayna must have filled her in on our "date". I'm not worried, I know Taylor wouldn't throw her under the bus, not intentionally anyway.

Travis turns around and stops them before they could go any further." I don't want to hear about you two and any guys. Look, im not stop you guys from having a few drinks but I draw the line at boys."

Alayna crosses her arms and has a defiant look in her eye. She huffs and says " You can't ask me not to talk to any guys Travis, we are here to have fun. We will drink and we will flirt and we will have fun. If you try to stop me from talking to any guys then I swear everytime you even look in a girl's direction tonight, I'll be right there to cock block you. You two aren't going to be here much longer and I have to find my footing here without you interfering."

Travis runs his hand over his face and sighs. He shakes his and gives in. "Fine, talk to them but you don't go in any tents except ours and you stay where we can see you. Don't take any drinks from any one other than me or Gun. Got it?" Then he looks at Taylor and says " That goes for you too Taylor." She grins at him and says " yes, daddy" which makes him groan. Alayna rolls her eyes and tugs Taylor by the hand and heads in the direction of a few of their other friends. "Come on let's go, and stop flirting with my brother, its gross."

Travis looks at me with a pained looked on his face and says " They are gonna be the death of me." I force a laugh and slap him on the top of his shoulder and steer him in the direction of the keg. I know how he feels because watching Alayna walk away in those tight jeans might be the death of me.
