You walked mindlessly back towards your apartment. Headphones in...lost in your own world. Watching your reflection as you passed by shop window after window. You felt nothing at all, but everything at the same time.

You stopped, a quaint little shop catching your attention...It was an arts and craft store. From outside you could see the shelves lined with every shade of paint...every brush meticulously placed...sketch books of every size..little wooden figurines that were surely meant to be painted.

You decided to take a look inside. You'd never painted much except when you were younger. Your grandmother and you had always painted with watercolors together.
She was where your creative side was born from. She loved the arts just as much as you did.

You walked around looking at everything until you found the isle that held water color palettes. Lightly running your hands over the insane amount of color options, so many happy memories coming back to you...you decided you wanted to give it another try after all these years. At least it would be something to do in the evenings or nights when it was too difficult to fall asleep.

As you were thumbing through the watercolor books with specially made pages able to tolerate the moisture, a familiar face caught your eye the next isle over and you froze. You knew that sharp jaw...those plush lips and long cascading hair.

"Hyunjin" you breathed.

He stopped abruptly and looked up catching your gaze.

You hadn't meant for him to hear you but due to the almost silent atmosphere of the little shop the faintest whisper could even be heard.

He looked almost startled..he clearly wasn't expecting on running into anyone he knew. Let alone you.

His soft endearing eyes slimmed as he softly smiled at you rounding the corner to the isle you had been standing in.

"Hey" he smiled.

"H-hey" you smiled back at him...taking in his tall stature...at least 6 inches taller than you, you thought.

"I didn't know you were a painter" he said noticing all the supplies in your arms.

"I'm not...not really at least..I used to paint watercolors with my grandmother when I was younger but that's the extent of it. She's probably the one who gave me my creativity." You couldn't imagine for the life of you why you just shared that with him. He didn't care.

"Really? That's sweet. Does she still paint?" He asked and it almost sounded like he was genuinely curious.

"She doesn't" you said looking down. "She passed away a few years ago.."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I—I didn't mean to..." he stammered kicking himself for asking something so stupid and personal.

"No it's ok...she loved to paint. I still have most of her paintings. She lived an amazing life." You tried to reassure him with a smile..you could see how bad he felt for asking.

He nodded..still unsure what to say now...an awkward silence crept in.

"Do you paint?" You asked.

"Yeah..I do actually. That's my passion..I love photography don't get me wrong...but painting is my true passion."

"I see" you said picking up a couple brushes to add to your stack of items in your basket.

Hyunjin stood with his hands in his pockets...looking almost shy...he usually carried himself with such confidence but today he felt different. Unbeknownst to you it was because he hadn't been able to stop thinking about you since the moment he saw you in that art gallery. He was confused and in unknown territory.
