It had only been a year to what felt like ages of devastation born from the androids. Exactly one year and six months since Goku died of heart disease. Chichi laments about the past of her husband in her far-off home. There was always Gohan to remind her to carry herself, but in her heart, she felt something was missing.

It should have been me, she thought. The one who would have died in his place, but here she was, alive, hiding, and alone.

Gohan had been training himself harder since the first android attacks, and the news of Bulma's son, Trunks, had reached Chichi's far-off home. They at least had something to keep them busy. However, Bulma was probably in her shoes with her lover gone aswell.

In the distance, a glimmer emerged through the clouds, gaining speed as it fell. "It must have been some debris from havoc brought by those androids," Chichi laments. As the unknown object hurls toward her, she notices the shiny hue and the red glass on its body. It wasn't the usual metal beam that ended in her parts of the country. It was most definitely some flying craft.

As the craft is almost near hitting the ground, Chichi retreats into her shelter. The ship slams into the earth, leaving a hearty dent, and when the sky is finally clear, Chichi decides to step out and assess the situation. Her heart was beating as if there was immediate danger ahead. As she steps closer to the crater left, she notices the similarity between her craft and the ones the Saiyans used to get to Earth those years prior.

Her face loses color, "What if another Saiyan wants to destroy the earth again?" remembering Goku's brother who had the same idea. There would be no stopping the life form inside the pod anyway. All the Z-fighters had died trying to protect the planet from the androids. The human race was practically doomed.

"KA-CHA," the sound of the pod clicked open, and for a second, the world had stopped. Chichi stood in fear, ready for her life to be taken at any moment. As she stood, nothing came out, and with what was left of her bravery, she decided to look into the pod.

Looking into the beat-up pod, it was not an adult Saiyan, a brain-eating alien, or anything of the sort. It was a baby, a baby girl. Sleeping peacefully in the pod, unknown to where she had ended up. With Chichi's motherly instincts, she picks up the child and inspects her.

"A TAIL?" she exclaims.

She had picked up a Saiyan child straight from the pod, what were the odds? Standing wondering how one of the members of a race wiped out by Freiza ended up in her vicinity. Using her knowledge of her late husband and his time with his grandfather, She had known that children Saiyans were programmed at birth to eradicate planets in hopes of the growth of the Saiyan race. That was until Goku fell and hit his head. He became a "normal" child.

What if this baby girl woke up and killed her like she was "programmed" to do? Chichi had thought long and hard, but in the end, brought the baby back into her shelter. She would deal with death later. And what more could a baby do? In her glory days, she was the princess of the Fire Mountain, a fighter. She could take on a baby if need be, plus she had survived long enough during the android's sieges.

Later in the day, the child finally awoke, and to Chichi's surprise, the baby had not started attacking anything in her home. It had just sat in the makeshift bassinet she had made to house the child. Maybe she had overthought what would happen if she bought the Saiyan baby into her household, but all she could think about right at the moment was,

"This has to be a gift from Kami."
