Eddie knocked on Frank's door, once, then twice. He'd expected Frank to answer, but it looked like nobody was home. All of the lights were off. Eddie shrugged, setting the package for them against their door. It wouldn't fit in the mailbox, and Eddie was excited to bring it to the door to talk to them again. They were such a nice friend, even if he only got to talk to them for a moment.
Eddie shut the flap of his bag, starting his walk through the neighborhood to deliver the rest of his packages. Once he'd made it to his last house, Sally's residence, he heard someone singing. Although this wasn't uncommon to hear Sally or Julie sing, this wasn't a female. He looked down at his watch. It was his last stop on his route anyway, why wouldn't he just stop in?
How can I be sure? When your intrusion is my illusion-
Frank was up on Sally's makeshift stage, singing into a microphone she'd fashioned herself. Both Julie and Sally were admiring their talents, not taking any notice of Eddie. All the while he was starstruck by Frank's voice. He wondered why Frank hadn't told him about it before, and Eddie had to admit to himself that he hadn't thought of them being multi-talented, so he hadn't asked. Nobody told him Frank was such a good vocalist. It seemed like it was a hidden fact, a little treasure that he had discovered.
How can I be sure? When all the time you changed my mind, I-
Once Julie looked over at him, he'd leaned onto the side of a wooden doorframe that seemed to be one of the props, in turn toppling it over. Once he had righted himself and (most) of the doorframe, Julie was waving frantically.
"Eddie! Eddie come look!"
Frank opened their eyes and fumbled the microphone, dropping it and it in turn making an unholy screech of feedback.
"Julie! You didn't tell me Eddie was coming!" They said in an almost-unfriendly greeting, glaring at him. "Mr. Dear."
"Sorry, y'all. I didn't mean to barge in, I- just heard the singing, out on the path.." Eddie rubbed the back of his neck, the rest of his sentence trailing off.
Julie jumped up and pushed Eddie farther into the homemade theatre, sitting him down in the front row. She plopped down into the seat next to him, propping herself up with her elbow on the back of the plush chair.
"Sooo? What do you think? Aren't they just lovely?"Eddie nods, watching as Frank wraps up the microphone cord and disappears behind the red curtain.
Julie follows his gaze, before tapping the back of his hand. "Don't worry about them, they're just grumpy you didn't knock first." She giggles. "Did you give them the flowers?"
Eddie raises an eyebrow. "The flowers were from you?"
She nods, bobbing her head back and forth to a soundless tune. She always seems to be dancing in some kind of way, and Eddie likes that about her. She's very.. musical.
"The look on their face, I bet! They must have thought they were from you!"
She turns over, somehow upside down sprawled across three seats, laughing merrily. Eddie chuckles with her, leaning back in the seat. "They must have. They looked pretty darn shocked."
Julie smiles. "Right?"
(A/N; i genuinely think that a lot of tears for fears' music would be something that frank would like to sing tbh and the vocals would be pretty similar in my head anyway but definitely check out the attached vid)
