The phone rang, and rang, and rang off the hook. Normally Frank would have picked up the receiver immediately to silence the annoying tone, but they weren't looking forward to Sally and maybe Julie pestering them about another show. Sally was always up to doing projects, day and night. They'd just finished lunch.
They heard somewhere that your stomach would be upset if you didn't let it settle. They listened too much to things like that, no matter how silly. They didn't know what would happen if the phone thought they weren't going to answer. Did it just.. stop? That was practically unheard of in Home, everyone answered the phone.
"Hellooo!" Came from the other side of the line. They didn't bother putting the phone all the way up to their ear, for fear of going deaf. The 'o' syllable in Sally's greeting was long and drawn-out.
"We need your skills, Frankly! And that set of pipes! Maybe you could help with the sewing? Oh.. I forgot you don't like needles, hm.. Maybe I'll have Eddie help!"
Frank didn't need to say anything. Sally carried the conversation on her own, and they had no objections to seeing Eddie again. It might make things a little more bearable.
"I don't feel much like singing, Sally. Maybe I can help with the props..? I don't have plans."
"Wonderful! You never feel like singing, so that's okay. We've got plenty for you to do if you get bored, you know. Or would you rather me ring your telly off the hook when I remember?" She teased.
Even if Frank asked her not to, she'd probably forget and do it anyway. Were they really supposed to start social interactions on their own accord? Preposterous.
