Angel Novak Huxley Candreva

Her sobs filled the room once more, and I couldn't bear to see her in such distress.

Frustration welled up inside me, and without thinking, I slammed my hand against Eros's chest, making him grunt as he sat up, rubbing his eyes and letting out a groan of discomfort.

"I got up last night," I said, my voice tinged with exhaustion and irritation. The lack of sleep was taking its toll on both of us, and the constant crying was pushing us to our limits.

"Alright," he whispered, his voice barely audible. As he stepped away from the bed, it seemed to regain some of its bounce, no longer weighed down by his presence. With careful steps, he made his way to the crib and gently lifted Lilith into his arms. I watched him, my exhaustion dragging me back towards slumber, but there was something important I couldn't ignore.

"Angel, she's hungry—she's all yours," he said with a tired smile, passing our precious daughter into my waiting arms. Every fiber of my being ached, and I longed for a moment to break down and release all the pent-up emotions.

But I resisted the urge to cry, to sob, to scream.

Instead, I sat up, cradling Lilith in my arms. I adjusted my tank top and offered her my breast. Her tiny lips latched on, and I rested my head against the headboard while Eros settled back onto the bed beside me.

"What time is it?" I mumbled, my voice heavy with fatigue.

"Four in the morning," he replied softly. I turned my gaze toward him, his tired but loving eyes meeting mine. I leaned my head onto his shoulder, finding solace in his presence.

"Who knew parenting could be this hard?" I sighed, my voice a mixture of exhaustion and resignation.

Eros let out a gentle chuckle, his hand finding mine and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I definitely didn't."

"We haven't had sex in two months," I whispered, the weight of that realisation pressing upon me.

He nodded in agreement, his expression reflecting a shared longing. "You haven't even left the house in two months."

"It's because the media is desperate to get a picture of Lilith," I said, my tone heavy with concern. "We need to keep her hidden, just in case anything happens."

Eros nodded again, his hand caressing Lilith's tiny head as she nursed.

"How about we go and drop of Lilith at mums house, and have some time to ourselves." He offers.

"I don't know Eros..." I whisper, he brushes the hair away from my face and forced me to look at him.

"We need this. You need to leave the house, let's walk to training? We'll throw a blanket over Lilith's pram."

I don't know if it was me who was scared to leave the house or if it was the fear that the media would take a picture and she'd be in any sort of danger. Eros has been going to training every morning, sticking to his schedule which Lilith and I are now in.

I think it's fear.

"I'll see Eros, you go to training."

"Are you sure?" He asks me, I nod my head glancing down at Lilith who has her eyes wide opens. I push my boob back into my bra, and Eros slides of the bed. "I'll stay home-"

"No, you have a big game coming up-go."

He nods his head, kissing my lips before heading to the bathroom to freshen up. I glance down at Lilith who gave me a small smile, her hands grabbing my thumb, I rock her slightly and step out of bed. Reaching the windows where I push the curtains to the side, allowing fresh light inside.
