You didn't hesitate

I remember a dream. I can't say for certain, whether the characters are you and me or not, but I can say I knew the scene very well. It was my bedroom. And the fact that I still remember this clearly and have an emotional attachment to this memory hints at ghost involvement.

The dream was this:

A girl sleeps. In her bedroom. Only, she wasn't asleep. She was listening.

A ninja or an assassin in training came in the window. He was quiet but she heard his movements.

He was here to kill her. He had to. It was the final test. But she wasn't asleep. He could feel her attention. She had to be asleep for him to pass.

She didn't move, pretending to be asleep. He sat at the end of her bed, crossleged and watched her.

This happened over and over. They felt each other's presence. Neither uttered a word.

One night another trainee came. They fought. The girl pretended to be asleep. Her usual visitor won the fight. He sat down and later he left.

They both knew he'd come back. They enjoyed the company. It felt safe. It felt comforting.
