We sat facing the sea after taking a dip, it felt fresh and the cool breeze made it even better.

“Aww, this suits me,” Amy said, satisfied with the clothes.

“You look beautiful,” Kevin complimented.

“It took me a lot of time to select it,” Jane replied. I looked at them and smiled.

“We are leaving tomorrow morning, we need as much light as possible while we are in the ocean,” Jane informed.

“That sounds good. The people we killed… might be a part of some group for sure, if they find out it was us… I don’t think it would be good,” Kevin let out.

At the midnight, I came to the living room to drink some water. I stood on the balcony enjoying my super delicious water. No matter where you are, the night is always scary, unlike humans ghouls don’t sleep at night, I mean why would the dead need any sleep? But they make sure they don’t disturb their fellow human while they are taking rest.

Leaving tomorrow? I don’t know how’s it gonna turn out.

As I was looking down, I spotted men armed with guns sneaking inside the building.

Did they already find out the dead bodies? That was fast.

“We are attacked? We are leaving for the mainland now,” Jane said, washing her face.

Ivan grabbed the compass and the map on the table. “Let’s go, we can’t run away anywhere on this island, the only logical thing is to leave it,” he agreed.

I slowly opened the door. “Let’s get out through the back entrance,” I suggested.

“They must be everywhere, try to avoid them as much as possible instead of fighting.”

From the third floor, we came to the second floor, one of them saw us, so we ran inside a room and held the door tightly.

“Get ready, things can get ugly,” I said, taking out my baseball bat. All of us held our weapons tightly even though Kevin and Finn were still a little sleepy.

Just then the door opened forcefully, a stranger entered, since it was dark he didn’t see us, the moment he was a little inside, Jane ran up to him and kicked him on the leg, he lost his balance and I punched him on the head.

“If you open your mouth, you are good as dead,” Jane threatened, placing her dagger on his neck.

“Wait, only a pistol? This won’t be enough,” Ivan said, picking it up.

I looked outside, the way seemed to be clear, on the stairs we found another one of them, he pointed his gun at us, and so did Ivan.

“Why don’t we talk?” Ivan said glaring at him.

He was about to pull the trigger when Kevin jumped on him in a flash and tried to snatch his gun. I joined him and we pinned him on the ground. We heard gunshots from behind.

“Run! Run! Run!” I said while Ivan covered us.

We came outside, luckily, we didn’t encounter anyone except our long-lasting friends; ghouls. None of us stopped till we reached the beach.

“Push it,” Finn said, trying his best to get the boat in the water. With all our strength, we pushed the boat into the water.

“This thing is heavy,” Amy said, taking shallow breaths.
