Out for the run

There was the princess sitting on the bed as the maid sat right next to her. The princess looked lost in her thoughts. "Is something wrong, princess?" The maid asked looking worried. "I... I hate being a princess." She mumbled. "W-what? W-why...?" The maid asked. "It's no fun! Don't you understand!? We're not even allowed to leave!" The princess yelled as her fox ears lowered. The princess notice the maid shivering. "I'm... sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you.." She gently said as she placed her hand on her shoulder. The maid calmed down after. The princess stood up and changed her clothes. She then took scissors and cut her long hair off. The maid sat there in shock. The princess then grabbed the maid's hand and dragged her to the balcony. "W-what are you-" "We're going to jump." The princess placed her hand on the maid's hips and jumped from the 6th floor. The maid held the princess tightly as she blushed a little. The princess landed on the floor, letting go of the maid. The maid breath was heavily. "Crystina? Are you okay..?" She whispered. "I- I'm *huff* scared of *huff* heights.." The maid said as she tried to catch her breath. The princess heard a guard and quickly grabbed the maid's wrist and hid behind a bush. The princess placed the tail around her body and lowered her ears. The princess placed her pointer finger on the maid's lips, gesturing her to be quiet. The maid held her breath while she blushed. The guard searched around and left. The maid breathed heavily. "Calm down, Crystina. Deep breaths." The princess whispered. The maid took a few deep breaths and felt better. The princess gestured her to countinue to seek out. The maid followed her to a wall. "We have to jump over this." The princess whispered. "W- How..?" The maid asked. The princess walked toward her and picked her up. "Wha...!" The princess swiftly jumped over the wall and landed. The princess countinued to hold her in her arms as she walks into a forest. "P-princess, w-where are we going...?" The blushing maid stuttered. "To my hideout." The princess replied.

After a long while, they finally reached to a cave which is quite well decorated. "I don't normally come here but it will be a nice place to stay." The princess said while placing the maid down. The princess set a fire in the middle of the small cave. "Stay here, I'll find some supplies. And take this so you won't be scared.." The princess took a necklace out of her pocket and place it in the princess' hands. She grabbed a flashlight in the cave and headed out.

Maid's pov :

Oh.... Why did I have to be dragged into this...? She placed the necklace around her neck and fidgeted with it. Why did she leave me here? Hope she comes back soon.. It's so scary here..  The maid looked around the well lit cave and sat down on a camping bed. She fiddles with the necklace with anxiety. What if princess doesn't come back? Oh... I'm so sorry... Please come back soon~ The maid closed her eyes and rested.

The princess came back with some fish, water and branches. She saw the maid peacefully sleeping on the camping bed. She placed the supplies on a shelf neatly. She took some fish and pierced it with a sharp stick. She placed in on the fire and slowly rotated it. After cooking it, she walked towards the maid and gently shook her. "Hello~? It's time for dinner~" The princess said in a gently and soft voice. "Mm..?" The maid opened her eyes and got up.The maid was relieved that nothing happened to the princess. She stretched and stood up. "I already made dinner, come eat." The princess said. "Okay..." The maid said in a sleepy voice. The princess hands over a plate with a steaming hot fish on it. "Be careful, it's hot." The princess said. The maid took a fork and nibbled a little. She was surprised that it was so flavourful. "Isn't it delicious? There's always fish in the river nearby, why don't you come fish with me tommorrow?" The princess said as her tail wagged. "O-oh...! Uh... sure?" The maid said hesitantly. The princess smiled softly and took a bite. Both of them countinue to eat.

Afterwards, they needed to sleep. "Oh...I only have one sleeping bed... Do you mind if we..?" The princess looked a little uneasy. "W-well, we don't really have another choice, do we?" The maid replied. The princess sighed and landed down at the side of the bed, gesturing the maid to lay next to her. She lays down, blushing. The princess easily slept but as for the maid, couldn't stop thinking about how close they were.

Maid's POV :

I can't sleep... sigh I think that I might.... have a tinnie crush on the princess. But how could she love a nobody like me? I'm just getting my hopes up.. She turned to the sleeping princess, staring at her face. She quickly turned away. Oh my.. I need to stop this..

It's morning time, the princess groaned as she gets up. The princess looked at the maid peacefully sleeping. She smiled and continued getting ready for the day. Afterwards, the princess sat next to the maid. "Good morning, Crystina. Its time to go fishing and to collect supplies." The princess said in a soft voice as her tail wagged. The maid groaned and slowly got up. "Mhm..." The tired maid replied. The princess grabbed a small knife, fishing rod, lighter, worms and two fish sandwiches. "Aha, hope you don't mind eating fish everyday... I will try to find other source of meat if I can." The princess said rubbing the back if her neck. "W-well, atleast we have food, right?" The maid replied. "Yeah, and we got eachother too.." The princess mumbled. The maid blushed a little. They both reached the river. The princess looked at the pond sadly.  "Ah, there's not much fish... We might need to find another source of meat.." The princess said worriedly as her ears lowered. "Oh, well.. You did bring some food right? W-why not have a small picnic?" The maid suggested. "Wonderful idea." The princess said down, gesturing the maid to sat beside her. The princess remove the sandwiches from the bag and gave one to the maid. They opened the wrappers and took a bite. They talked, laughed and ate their food happily.

They went back to the cave and rested on the single bed, chatting and giggling. When all the sudden, there was a noise from outside. The princess quickly sat up and her ears lowered. "W-what was that..?" The maid asked quietly. "I'll... go check..." The princess said. The princess grabbed the small knife and a flashlight and slowly walked out. She saw a young woman carrying a gun. "Put the weapons down." The princess said. "Oh! I never seen you here before." The stranger said. "Huh?" The princess ears raised. "Is that your cave? Aha... sorry, I may have stayed there a bit. I don't really have a current home.." "You can't stay with us." "Us?" The maid peeked out from the cave. She walked toward the princess, clinging to her arm. "H-hi.." The maid said. "Okay, sorry to bother you guys! Have fun you love birds~" The stranger said as she walked away. They both blushed as they walked back inside. They laid down on the bed. "Goodnight, Crystina." The princess said gently. "Goodnight, princess." The maid replied.

Maid's POV :

Oh my, who was that? And why did she call us love birds? Well, that doesn't sound like a bad idea... She turns the opposite direction from the princess. Knock it of Crystina! You don't even know her name...! Sigh... I'll tried to handle this myself...
