THE SEVEN

Chapter 1

The rain pattered lightly on the streets of São Paulo as three close friends prepared for a night out. Sarah, Han, and Jel had bonded over shared dreams and the vibrant city they now called home.

Han, the youngest of the group, had a thing for computer science. She'd come to São Paulo for the software engineer job she was promised, it just so happened that her 2 best friends were also moving there. Sarah, always eager to lend a hand, had aspired to be a nurse. And that's what she did. She loved helping people and was known for her kind heart. She'd come to Brazil to help people in need. Lastly, there was Jel. The movie-loving friend had a thing for critiquing films. She was always getting invites to movie events. Tonight, though, she was more interested in the dance floor than the red carpet.

The girls were all famous in their respective careers. Han was constantly getting asked to create new games, websites, or apps. Sarah was always receiving gratitude for the way she would treat her patients. And jel was known for being a very tough critic.

Han sat on her computer working on a new game while Sarah changed her outfit for the 5th time.

"What do you think of this one" Sarah stepped out of the closet to show the girls.

Jel paused her movie, "Honestly it looks kinda worse than the last one"

Han looks up from her computer. "I kinda like this one. The pink shoes really match the pink top"

"But it's not the same shade of pink. It looks off"

"Yeah but no one is going to notice"

Sarah sighed in frustration, "So what do you think? yes or no"

"Why do you care so much about your outfit," Han asked "Are you trying to impress someone"

Sarah defensively says no. But she knows it's not true. When she was at the store, earlier that morning she saw a guy. Let me set the scene, It was 9:45 in the morning when a little girl came up to Sarah crying. She said she lost her mom and Sarah was determined to help her. They walked around the store and a guy noticed her trying to find someone. He was 5'11, 175 pounds, BMI of 20.3, and had brown eyes and curly brown hair. The little girl explained what her mom looked like to the best of her ability and the man said he just saw her.

Sarah with the little girl follows the man to the dairy aisle. Skeptical Sarah stayed at least 6 feet away from the man. When they go to the aisle a mom immediately spots her child. The little girl runs to her mom and they both thank Sarah and the man. The 2 both start walking back to their shopping carts when the man says something.

"Hi I'm M- Sebas" He sticks out his hand to shake Sarah's. She returns the gesture.

She smiles, "I'm Sarah"

Long story short they get to talking and he ends up telling Sarah about a party he was attending. Coincidentally she and her friends were going to the same one.

"So that's what happened" Sarah was out of breath after telling that long story.

"GIRLY WHY DIDNT YOU TELL US SOONER" Han yells

Sarah speaks quietly, "Because I probably won't see him again after tonight"

The girls all share a look of concern. "Of course you will. You might run into him on the streets of Rome. You never know" Jel comments trying to brighten the mood.

Han put her computer down and jumped up from her seat "True. And tonight you need an outfit"

Han and Jel rush into the closet to find Sarah the perfect outfit. After the girls are ready Han calls their Uber and they head to the party.
