Devon Lee: A True Champion Rises

Devon's choice

After the chaos at the Cobra Kai dojo, fight against Daniel Larusso and Terry Silver and Cobra Kai lost again. Devon fears of trust issues with Johnny. Devon feels guilty about joining Cobra Kai but she wasn't corrupted by them. "I don't know why I joined their side. All I wanted was to work on my skills." She said to herself. Tory came by and sat next to Devon and said "I'm glad you decided to give up Cobra Kai, I am also surprised that you were not corrupted by their teachings." She said proudly. Devon nods and said "why did you lie about what side you were on? I mean you were acting strange during the training sessions." She asked a bit upset and curiously. Tory looked at Devon and said "I guess I didn't know my side until, I saw Silver pay the ref before I was supposed to fight LaRusso."she said.  Tory noticed Devon's skills and said "You did pretty well during the tournaments especially our first match against each other, I think you could have a shot of winning the girls tournament and maybe Sekai Tekai if you keep developing your skills with balance." She said encouraging Devon. Devon smiles and says "I guess, I just wanted to continue my karate skills which is why I was in Topanga Karate. Eagle Fang shut down which is why I'm not back there yet. I hope Sensei Johnny accepts me back because he made me into Karate." She said with confidence. Tory nods and says "he was mine as well, for me I may take a break from this karate drama for a bit." She said. Devon nodded and said "good idea." As Tory smiles got up and left.

Miguel walked over to Devon, sat next to her and said "Why did you join Cobra Kai? You don't seem like type of person that would do that. We could have used your help" He asked curiously.
Devon looks at Miguel and says "I didn't really have a choice because Cobra Kai, took Topanga Karate way from me and combined as one." She said a bit disappointed. But I didn't get corrupted, I just wanted to continue my skills." She said. Miguel looks at Devon with support and said "I understand, and I'm sure Sensei will be upset with you on the Cobra Kai but he will be happy to hear from you again." He said.  Devon nodded and said "I hope I beat cancers ass someday." She said. Miguel looks at her with a concern and says "is there someone sick in your family?" He asked respectfully. Devon responded "my mother died when I was young beyond cancer." She said. Miguel said "I'm sorry to hear that." He said comforting her. Devon nods in thanks.  "Don't worry Devon, I am Co-Sensei too Sensei Johnny, I am sure he will want you back in. Also, you do have awesome skills, you just need some stronger defense. Mr. LaRusso is a master at Defense, you should go to him." Miguel suggested for Devon as he left "Got to go Devon."  Devon smiles and continues to think to herself.

Then the guy who locked his eyes on his female champion sat next to her, which is Johnny! "Devon, I have been trying to pull you out of Cobra Kai." Johnny said. Devon turned to her true Sensei Johnny "You were? I didn't get caught in the trap they were pulling." She said. Johnny looked at her with a smile "That is good, it did feel weird to see you in their Gi, instead of Eagle Fang Gi, red does suit ya you know" he said, Devon laughed a bit and said "red is a good color, Topanga was my next karate place because I wanted to continue working on my skills after you shut down, then Cobra Kai replaced it all and I had no choice in joining them. I felt guilty when I glanced over to you at the tournament." She said. Johnny said "I hear ya, I wanted you to win inside even though I was on LaRusso's side. We should get win, Eagle Fang deserves it and even you too. Which is why I am giving you another opportunity to help us there" he said as he is giving Devon her new Eagle Fang Gi. Devon was surprised that her Sensei Johnny was giving her another chance. "Well, thank you, you do know that my pronouns are still she and her right?" She said jokingly. "This again, remember it's Sensei and student." He said. Devon corrected him "those are nouns, remember" she said. Johnny got up and said "Oh, I am sorry, what I meant was QUIET!!" He said shocking her. "That's still imperative" she said. Johnny said " tomorrow meet us and the others in the warehouse where we had our first meeting" he said. Devon nods and says "Yes Sensei" as he walks off. Devon grabs the Gi and walks home.
