The next day, after Devon got her taste in Eagle Fang, Topanga, Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do. Devon wants to continue to grow her skills with Johnny.

"Hey, Devon what's on your mind?" As Johnny said curiously on her. Devon looked at Johnny and said, "is there any new lessons I could learn, to vamp up my game?" She asked Johnny. Johnny thought of something that Devon could develop and learn that "have you ever jumped over two buildings and doing the Eagle Fang pose?" He asked.  Devon was excited about this as they were on the rooftop of the warehouse building and said, "I have a strong idea of how I would do it!" She said confidently. Johnny was thrilled with her response and said "really? How's that?" He asked. Devon said, "like this!" As she made a backflip and then she did the Eagle pose facing Johnny and then landed on to the other roof and landed perfectly. Johnny was impressed by Devon's ability to do this, "Nice work!" He said as she jumped back to the warehouse. "Thank you, I am just talented." She said proudly. 

Johnny and Devon are sitting on the rooftop with their hair flowing with the wind, Johnny said, "I'm glad, you didn't get turned into what these kids were into from Silver and Kreese." Johnny said happy. Devon nodded and said, "I'm just smarter than all these kids, I am here for the competition and not for the rivalry because it's pointless to fight over Karate." She said proudly. Johnny nodded and said "I am also sorry for your loss of your mother. It is hard to lose someone we love but you will have to not let it hold you back because it could you be weak." Johnny said supporting Devon. Devon was happy with her Sensei supporting her "thanks, I am glad you didn't give up on me. But why didn't you pull me out when Silver was taking over Topanga?" She said wondering. Johnny felt guilty on this and said, "I was outside of the dojo with Chosen and I saw you training with Cobra Kai, and he didn't let me come convince you to leave but to focus on Silver." He spoke.

Devon nodded with understanding and spoke "At least, you didn't give up on me. Out of all the girls you trained who do you see as the best champion or best student?' She spoke. Johnny looked out to the other parts of Los Angeles and said, "I will say with all the drama in Karate and relationships and rivalries, I will have to say you because you seem perfectly balanced." He spoke with a smile. Devon smiled and understood Johnny. "I say with all my Sensei's I had I will say that you were my favorite because you picked me." Johnny nods as they continued to sit on the rooftop.

"Sensei, I have a couple of friends that you should meet." Devon spoke. Johnny nodded as he sees three figures standing them waiting for Devon to introduce them. "Sensei, this is Oona O'Brien, Ricky and Juan. They have been my guide as well for being true champs besides me." Oona, Ricky and Juan shook Johnny's hand, and all said, "Nice to meet you, Sensei Johnny.' Devon looks at Johnny and says, "Should we recruit them to Eagle Fang?" She is asking politely. Johnny thought of possibility of recruiting new students and said "Sure, it wouldn't hurt to add new members to dojo." He spoke.

As they went inside the Warehouse, Johnny gave the new three their Eagle Fang Gi's and shirt. "Since you guys are new, maybe some of you I will give you guys your Gi's now. Also, how much Karate do three know?" he said. "Juan and Oona are a bit experienced in Karate, I have some too but not a lot." Ricky spoke. Johnny nods and spoke "Good enough, I have seen your karate styles, and they are pretty decent, especially you Oona. You all have potential to become champions even our current Devon Lee." Johnny spoke. Devon nodded and added "We will have to make sure Eagle Fang takes home a win!" She said with confidence and determination. Johnny nodded in agreement "Yeah! That too! Tomorrow I we will have a few sparring sessions to see where we all are in our skills! It will be boys vs girls like a scrimmage a little bit." He said. Devon nods in determination and says "Let's see what we got tomorrow!" She looks at Oona. As they both look at each other. Ricky and Juan were ready as well for their sparring sessions. "You are all dismissed for today!" Johnny said dismissing his students. "See ya tomorrow Sensei!" Devon said.
